Hopefully their GM isn’t just lying to keep Lillard happy and is actually going to trade that pick. If so we have to be one of the teams that have a chance at landing him. Hope Bobby and Masai aren’t still **** ing delusional about this core.

Publicly the Blazers will say that they are shopping the pick but they will put a ridiculous price tag on it which no one will pay and then they will make the 3rd pick and try to convince Lillard that Scoot or Miller can help them win games right away.

Exactly, even from this non scientific sample size.

The potential of the #3 pick (trade value) is higher then the known Siakam, with a big contract (maybe needing more), who couldn’t get the raptors into the playoffs.

Doesn't really matter what fans think, it's what the GMs/Presidents/Owners think.

I’m just picturing Lillard and Siakam together and that is a solid duo. That duo is probably top 4-5 in the west?

In rough order:

Lebron - AD
Jokic - Murray
KD - Booker
Morant - Jackson
Lillard - Siakam
Kawhi - George (injuries with this duo or else higher)
Fox - Sabonis
Luka - Kyrie
Curry - Klay?

They just need to have a solid team around that and they have a shot at being top 4. Old Blazers regime probably does that move. Don’t know about this new regime.

Morant and Jackson aren't really a top duo. The Griz win because of them and trex arms and Adams etc. A team of solid dudes. They should be at the bottom of the list there, really, if you're ranking duos. Morant is surprising inefficient.

Siakam is being so slept on. He'd be so awesome with Lillard, that it makes me kinda want to get Lillard now.

Maybe if we had tanked and had a good pick and future picks to move. Lillard/OG/Pascal would be outstanding together. Rehire Nurse.

Thing is, I don't think GM's really think to highly on Siakam either.

Ya, it would be hard to make the numbers work.

All we need is a Fred opt-in. Then it's FVV, pick and filler ( Thad + ).

We can grab Dame if he wants to change teams, get him at a discount because of the Blazers doing him a solid.

Dame
OG
Barnes
Pascal
Poeltl

GTJ, Precious, OPJ, Boucher

Need a back-up combo guard for the MLE, but I think we are a dark horse

I'm not so sure about that, he's made multiple all-nba teams, allstar games. These are things decided on by people who cover or are around the game a lot. I think people in NBA circles know what he provides.

I'd do this in a second, but POR doesn't unfortuately. That team is capable of being near the top of the east. Everyone is now slotted in their right position - Siakam #2, OG/VV/Barnes #3-5.

I don't either, especially trying to meet Masai's asking price. That's why it's likely we hold onto him.

I don't think the All NBA status is this all encompassing badge of honor that Siakam fans tend to bring up as a defence lol.

Randle just as much all star and all nba appearances as Siakam does. It's not really that big of a deal anymore, especially in today's NBA where load management is prevalent. Kawhi, KD, AD all didn't make it either, they're all vastly better than Siakam.

Siakam got in by the skin of his teeth last year simply because Jimmy missed more games.

I believe GM's would love to have him but I don't think he's the 1st, 2nd or even third option in the list for an ideal 2nd option they want beside their star.

The thing is, the type of star they want or need, can't be acquired with the #3 pick.

Their options will be players in that 20-40 range, which Siakam is one of.

Nobody is giving up a top 10-15 player for Brandon Miller.

Great point. I inclined to agree with that.

If all the top 3 picks made all NBA/all star or whatever plateau you want to assign over a 10 year period minus first 2-3 years in the league, you'd have 30 of them. So if they don't accept a say #25 ranked player for the #3 (who aren't absolute locks to meet their upsides), they're just being illogical. Draft picks are always most expensive right before the draft.
Organization can be defined as an organized body of people with a particular purpose. Not random.

As they should, adding Siakam isnt going to make them instantly contenders. They're going to hold on to their 3rd pick and draft Scoot and test the market on Lillard this Summer.

Siakam would be the best teammate Dame ever had to be fair.

Its actually pretty hard to make a trade between Portland and the Raptors work. Essentially it will be Pascal for Simons and Nurkic, but then we will have to flip Nurkic somewhere else since I am pretty sure Masai wants Poetl to be our starting C.

Return to Toronto Raptors
