I know that Dame wants to go to Miami, but he needs to be smart and get his friendship with Butler out of the equation - Butler is 34 and will start declining fast sooner than later. He likely only has 1 year with Miami to go for it, and if Miami gives up major assets to get him, I doubt that they can get out of the East.
Boston has Tatum who is only 25 and will be great for another 7-8 years. This extends Lillard's window for another 2-4 years before he likely starts declining. Boston would likely have to give up Brown, Pritchard, Robert Williams and a bunch of 1st rounders. The fit of Lillard and Tatum is much better than Tatum and Brown.
His DEMAND that he goes to ONLY to Miami just shows Dame is actually a liar/hypocrite.
I had no issues with him asking out of POR, that's fine when it's on the basis that he's leaving because "he wants to win".
But both BOS (in particular) & PHI offer him that same opportunity, so clearly this isn't just about wanting to win. It's wanting to have everything his little heart desires lol -- a chance to win AND existing relationships AND a beautiful location (which I think is the part he doesn't want to admit because then he's just another player that wants to force himself to a MARKET of his choice). Dame wants his cake & to eat it too and sadly most of the media is pandering to that and making him feel he's entitled to it. Like POR "owes" him, they don't owe him sh*t other than to treat him respectfully and if you want to talk about the long relationship -- that's a TWO WAY street.
The media is even promoting this bs of "the league is watching how Dame is treated" lol like they need to gtfoh with that. They've paid this dude a fortune for something HE signed up for and it's not like they're threatening to send him to play for WAS lol...they are actually doing by right by him by given him what he said he wanted at it's core "a chance to win" --- he suddenly added in well I want a place were all my friends are...ohhh and it has to be beautiful there too lol. Like shut up Dame & media, they don't owe him giving him every last detail and demand, he's not rubbing a genie lamp lol this is business and they're trying to be FAIR about it.
If I'm them, I'm sending him to BOS (assuming Brown would sign a massive extension) end of story. POR gets a player they'd want and fits -- Dame gets his shot(s) at a championship(s) and I don't see how media could make an intelligent argument of how POR would've supposedly done him wrong.
