I believe Queen is overweight, while you cannot compare to Lofton Jr, because Queen is all about footwork and passing.
I might not have him in the top 3, but I think he can be in the top 10.

As for Asa, I think he is an elite defensive player to guard multiple positions, but I am unsure he has the perimeter skills to play as a forward. He could be in the top 10 as well.

I have heard Queen being compared to DeMarcus Cousins. He was a great player in his early years but the NBA seemed to pass him by.

Cousins has a 7'6 wingspan, I believe, while Queen only has 7', which is pretty much PF length. And he is a year older (though, his skill level is still more advanced than players at his age).

I think Queen will need to slim down and play PF, which I believe he can. His athleticism is more limited by his weight, which could be improved.

My point was in the NBA if you can't shoot off the dribble even a little bit you won't be given the ball enough to create. It essentially mutes his playmaking skills. Being a .1% athlete v a 10%ile athlete doesn't matter, either. See the long list of scrubs that have participated in the dunk contest over the years. Edgecombe could well be a bust, but he offers a pretty similar outlook on a role in the NBA.

You may be under-rating the physical profile of the twins. Amen was pretty much playing C last year when Sengun went out and was crushing it. You can make the case that Amen can legitimately play any position on the floor. Can the same be said about Edgecombe? Serious question, I don't know much about this year's prospects yet.

No, he won't be as versatile on defense. He'll be more versatile on offense, though. He can shoot. It's just not shown up yet. He probably won't be creating a lot of half court offense but should be a positive connector on offense and play finisher.

I just think VJ’s offence’s is way more of a question mark because he’s smaller in stature so I personally wouldn’t have them in the same tier as prospects. He’s a wing in a guards body.

I don’t know that they’re better athletes than VJ. Maybe Amen is. Also Ausar is not the same level of passer as Amen. VJ would be the best athlete we’ve had on the team since Vince, and by a pretty comfortable margin.

Edgecombe only has a 6'6 wingspan. Edgecombe will need a lot of skills to be a PG, while playing at SG will be slightly undersize. Norman Powell maybe a better comparison, even Powell has a 6'10 wingspan.

Yeah, the Thompson twins are just flat out better athletes, Amen especially with just way more length.

VJ to me will be in the mold of Jalen Suggs but with way more suspect offence.

A floor raiser, not a ceiling raiser. Unless he has a Victor Oladipo like rise in his offence.

Even if he can play the 4 like a Zach Randolph look at how little value there are in players like Julius Randle, who I imagine is the better athlete and can shoot it a bit. If this Queen kid is not able to defend or shoot he is not going to be very good in the NBA.

Ya, so a big defensive PG.

I think Suggs was a much better and more natural playmaker, but I think VJ looks like a more dynamic athlete and play finisher. That's the mold I see too.

Maybe he's a taller Paul Milsap?

His game could develop obviously, but I am pretty sure he is a true center. If Millsap was playing today I imagine he would be shooting 3s. I know you said a taller Millsap, but Millsap was like 6 foot 7 on a good day.

Edgecombe, and Queen have bad measurements. I wouldn't pick either of them. We need to play it safe and ensure we at least add someone who can be a roleplayer right away and grow from there. I would have Fears, Jakucionis, Johnson, Newell, McNeeley, Knueppel and Maluach as my primary targets outside of the obvious top 3. I'm not sure about Bailey but the potential is enough to take a flyer on, and it'll depend on workouts. I can see him dropping in the draft because of his poor BPM and TS%.

I generally am not a fan of play style comparisons, but the best one that I've seen on this board for Queen so far IMO (I forgot who specifically said this, so apologies that I'm not crediting you directly) is Sengun-lite. I think they have similar basic measurements too in terms of height/weight/wingspan.

Since Queen is sophomore aged, would it be better drafting junior Danny Wolf at the end of the 1st or with the Portland 2nd? I think so.

I think he's the third best player in the draft behind Flagg and Harper. Seems he's being mocked too low imo

He has the highest floor. A pick and roll between him and Barnes would be great to see. We're going to have a tough time finding a player that can create in isolation. Players like IQ and JK paired with Barnes and two good big men is what we should be after. Bailey, Edgecombe, and several others being mocked in the top 10 are big time risks. At the very least JK will be a high level bench player but I see him being a starter in the NBA.

If we land outside top 2, my pick is for sure JK all the way. But knowing masai he’s gonna pick Edgecomb

Kasparas is probably who I want the most. I don’t think he’s the greatest fit with RJ and IQ given we need more defense and two way players. If Kasparas looks like a hit, we may need to require upgrades for RJ, IQ and obviously the C position in the long-term.

What is JK’s defensive potential? Cause a 1-3 of IQ/JK/Scottie seems terrible for containing dribble drive penetration.

A mobile big man at PF seems like a unicorn, considering most teams are featuring SF’s at PF nowadays. Even Wemby, Chet, Porzingis play a lot of minutes at C. With Cleveland, both of their bigs have elite foot speed.

JK's defense isn't that bad. He doesn't have a great defensive center backing him but his DRtg is 92.9, for comparison VJ's is 91.1. His steal rate isn't very high but I don't go by that. I don't want a player that gambles and loses positioning. The eventual issue would arise that we should move IQ or JK, but that's a problem for the future. Once he is fully developed we can consider packaging him or IQ for a star that is available.

Random thought. A mid season draft lottery might counteract the tanking problem in the NBA. It could be done around the trade deadline. Then we'd see the trade deadline dynamics change with teams looking to finish strong. It'd also give teams ample time to scout the prospects in their range.

Ya, the video posted outlines that he plays decent defense and boxes out. He doesn't gamble for steals.
