A few things:

sterling got too close to his hooker - should keep the revolving door mentality and never get personal

the girl is 'setting him up' by taping and leading the conversation to some degree

she only knew to do that from a long history of hearing him say such things - he exposed that side to her and put himself at risk - he's a sad old man

he is on record many places saying disparaging things about minorities - he believes it

he is part of a partnership with other owners and the players association who could probably force him out and should force him out to protect the NBA brand

this may be Adam Silver's defining moment as commissioner - he could build real equity with the players and unite the other owners around him - or he could look weak and lose respect.

He may have to damage the Clipper brand significantly if Sterling won't sell and walk away. That is his leverage.

Yeah I feel bad for Clippers fans. They know how much of a jerk Sterling is more than any of us. They finally get a good team and this info comes out now. Not fair for them. I thought it was common knowledge that Donald had racists views? Surely Doc had some info inside before he signed on with the Clippers. Plus CP re-signed knowing about the owners sketchy past I imagine. And to Mark Jackson's statements about fans should stay away. I don't know how I feel about that. In the long run maybe that's a decision you could feel proud of. It would be a huge message if fans don't show up. But at the same time the Clippers have a serious shot at contention. Imagine if you bought a ticket from scalpers at double the cost, maybe scheduled work around it, and perhaps even paid for plane tickets and hotels accommodations. And now the thunder is stolen by a classless owner you've been hating on for years. Brutal.

It's possible to question Stiviano's motives and actions without excusing Sterling. I think you'd need a 3-day shower if you shared an elevator with either.

What do you guys think of Mark Jackson suggesting Clips fans don't come out to the game? Isn't he just playing the coach of the Warriors, trying to get an advantage? Why should fans who paid for tickets not come out to see their team play?

1) That won't work, he's quite comfortable owning a bad basketball team. He's really the best at it in professional sports.
2) It's not fair to the players, both the current Clippers and anyone that wants to play professional basketball.

I don't think the league can just let them all go wherever they want, that's just going to kill parity in the league by making super teams. They need to have a system if the players become free agents, like a bidding system of some sort almost like a fantasy draft. Teams can't just be able to sign guys because of this bigot. It gives teams with capspace a HUGE advantage.

I think he probably meant it in a way that it would hurt Sterling. GS fans walking out of the GS game wouldn't have done that. But it is funny. Much like the Rockets owner wanting all of the Clippers players to become free agents.

I mentioned it earlier, but I don't like that he tells someone else to protest without offering to do it himself first.
