The known list of players to have worked out with the Raptors:

TJ Bamba, Oregon
Johni Broome, Auburn
Lamont Butler, Kentucky
L.J. Cryer, Houston
Dain Dainja, Memphis
Egor Demin, BYU
RJ Felton, East Carolina
Dajuan Harris Jr., Kansas
Chucky Hepburn, Louisville
Ryan Nembhard, Gonzaga
Clifford Omoruyi, Alabama
Tahaad Pettiford, Auburn
Jase Richardson, Michigan State
Aaron Scott, St. John's
Alex Toohey, Sydney Kings (NBL)
Trey Townsend, Arizona
Nolan Traoré, Saint-Quentin (France)
Jamir Watkins, Florida State
Hansen Yang, Qingdao (China)

That’s interesting! Egor Demin is intriguing in the sense that it’s a player rarely mocked to Toronto !

I bet Hansen Yang is a target if we move back.

I would take Coward/Fleming and Yang instead.

Assuming Bryant had already been drafted.

One of Traore, WCJ or Coward and one of Yang (if you want to swing for the fences) or Raynaud (if you want to play it safe) is how I would play it. I would add CMB as an option to the first group, but that seems to be a divisive opinion.

I think two picks in the 20s probably puts you in a position to do this.

We know they've seen a lot of Traore this year and from reports have been very intrigued.

Someone made the comparison of Ja'Kobe and Ace with guys falling. A number disagreed because Ja'Kobe was considered top 5 in the preseason and very early season then slipped as year went on.

If there is any comparison to Ja'Kobe this year, I believe it is Traore. He was top 5 in the preseason and is now looking to be in 20 range.

Are we sure JaKobe is actually going to be a good value pick?

The Raptors I think believed his stats were poor because of the injury and the front office may have picked him since there wasn't anyone else they liked. Probably a disagreement between the scouting department and the analytics department and they had to pick someone.

My comparison, which I didn't explicitly state in the second paragraph - my bad, refers to very early draft projections compared to close to draft projections. Nothing to do with injury or performance or player comps, just to be clear.

That workout list is frightening. Are we unable to get any lottery guys in for a workout?

That is only what's known. Raptors have been pretty hush hush in recent years. I wouldn't think that to be "the" workout list.

Is that really the case, or is that just a Raptor board thing to tell ourselves and inject a little copium. I'm off the copium.

I mean if we are trying to trade the pick, wouldn't this strategey tell everyone that we are trying to get rid of it? Where's the utility in sharing only underwhelming names. I admit, maybe there's a chance to pull a fast one and sccop up a Bruno under everyone's nose, but I'd feel better if we had a look at players who are widely believed to be picked around our spot.

No. That is the case. I imagine in the next week some more workouts will become known, like Gradey in for 2 workouts a couple of drafts ago.

You don't remember the daily media interviews in years past? Or the daily press releases of who is coming in? They've gone cloak and dagger. Sucks for die hard fans but the secrecy is probably better for the team. Teams speculating what you're doing versus knowing what you're doing is a good thing imo.

Maybe they've gone cloak and dagger because they can't get the agents to work their players out here. We're in every rumour. The Front Office does leak. Like all they do it strategically and have their guys. Anything from Marc Stein, any thing that gets mentioned by Grange or Doug, is likely being put out there by the front office. What we didn't do was feed Woj our picks.....

You're off the hopium and copium but gone straight over the edge of doomium and gloomium.

Agents love Toronto. Great player development for young guys and a willingness to pay above market contracts for mid career guys. Yes, there is issues with attracting stars but that is the same for 24-25 other teams.

Keep the hope/cope and doom/gloom balanced.

By making a consolidating trade. They already traded a 1st pick, Bruce Brown and Kelly Olynyk for Brandon Ingram.

Maybe another trade they did for Mark Gasol or Kawhi.

Bobby has said they've narrowed it down to 5 prospects for the #9 pick.
