They definitely were NOT negotiating in good faith. They thought they could lowball Turner because no team had cap space and boom, they got roasted lol.

Great for the Raptors since 2 East teams became mid for the foreseeable future lol.

They def thought Turner would grant them a "hometown" discount.

They definitely weren't paying the tax. This is just to keep spirits up after that gut punch of a game 7.

Big hat cap.

Indiana has been notorious for not paying the luxury tax. You lowballed your starting C and he left. This is just for saving face. Now you're star PG is out for the year and you have no starting level C on the roster. Play-In is what they'll probably fight for this season.

Not paying Turner with Hali out next year is what I think the Pacers are comfortably with - this spin is just PR and if they are able to replace Turner with a solid C next year the Pacers FO will look smart.

ya i don't know about the Bucks stretching Lillard to get Turner was the smartest move. sounds so desperate to keep Giannis "happy". Bucks got roasted. Pacers got roasted.

now its time for the Raptors to make the playoffs. if they can't get to the playoffs with the state of the East this weakened, serious conversations about the front office...

Lmao at people in here eating that lie up.

Pacers never wanted Turner, they’ve been dangling him in trades for the last several years. They don’t give a **** that they lowballed him.

Taking a step back was always the plan once Hali got hurt. They’re completely fine with this vs overpaying Turner.

Yeah, sounds like their offer was far off from what Milwaukee offered, but they didn't know that Milwaukee was a threat until it was too late.

I think there's a chance they would've matched the offer just to trade him for assets later.

Next season will be a good measure for both teams and where they both stand. I think Toronto’s 24-25 season was similar to ORL’s 22/23 season. Both teams got better as the season went on and the defense was a reason for it. ORL made first round the following season as a 5th seed. If Toronto can get 6th/7 next season, id say thats a success depending on how they do in the first round.

With the way the cap works now is it almost better to like just trade off guys you think won't be superstars in year 2 or 3? It's not even Toronto or Orlando specific but it's like the worst spot to be when your guys are solid but not great which is how I feel about Paolo Franz and Scottie to certain extents.

Ujiri probably overpaid because of our **** taxes. Give them a bit more extra so they stay happy with the team and don't feel like they are loosing a lot from playing in Toronto.
