Part of the reason O'Neal was getting beat every night was cause he had a lot on his shoulders. I think with Bosh, it lowers the load on him a little. For the both of them actually, if you think about it. I think O'Neal could just play more games next season...

I'm sure most of us could probably live with that.

I was more thinking it would be ironic on our part. We trade Jermaine and clear up all this cap space, then when we have a bunch of money to spend in the offseason, we spend a chunk of it on... Jermaine.

Even if I disgree with Feschuk at times, I always enjoy his acid tongue.

And he's right in that we're not that much better, but he's wrong by saying we were an up-and-coming team before the O'Neal trade went down. I think the notion of us being a team on the rise disappeared in the first half of last season, where it became apparent that Bosh had stopped making those big incremental gains that he'd made seasons prior, Bargnani stopped being compared to Dirk and started being compared to Radmanovich, and Ford's 2 main issues -- durability and bball IQ -- remained big obstacles.

I'm sure he will give you some kind of hometown discount, after he wins a title here.

O'Neal confirms Pacers sending him to Raptors

O'Neal confirmed the trade Thursday, saying he was pleased with the move by team president Larry Bird.

"He wanted to get me to a place where I could contend and do what I'm capable of doing," O'Neal told The Associated Press. "We both agreed that the timing was perfect. His focus on getting them (the Pacers) to a level where they can grow and start to be competitive was tremendous."

O'Neal wasn't surprised by the trade.

Good to hear O'Neal comment on the trade, he seems OK with a fresh start with the Raps.

True. But I couldn't help but laugh when he said "and they play defense".

If JO really said that, I'd be more concerned about his eyesight than his knee.

It seems like the other boards(mainly CHI and NYK) do not like the trade for us.

Because both teams tried to do a big scoring frontcourt and both failed.

Similarity note: Both teams had Curry

Because they suck, their "dates/marriages" didn't quiet work out, and as a result of bad experience... they've let their judgements get clouded.

Pacers seem to have way too many players now-- they picked up 6 players for 2 in these 2 trades (with Toronto and Portland) and surely have to trim their roster. In addition, they also picked up Hibbert making you wonder if they have any intention at all of keeping Rasho.

OMG Portland is just crazy...

They have enough young players to last 2 decades....

Pritchard is definitely one of the best GM's in the NBA...

seems like he's owned the draft for the last 3 years..

Maybe they thought they gave us JO for nothing, so they got jealous over the potential healthy JO helping us for 2 seasons.

Return to Toronto Raptors
