What does that even mean? Please can you just take a second and think before you post.

Are you currently taking ESL? What do you need me to clarify?

Well for one, why wouldn't he look you in the eye, are you a big man? Are you in a wheelchair? I thought the internet tough guy act died out a while ago.

Let me give you a scenario. Let's say Jonas was at the line the last game of the season with the team down by one. If he hits both free throws they win and the Raps miss out on the worst record. Do you cheer for him to miss?

Yes.

You don't take in many sporting events live do you?

Ouch, I can only imagine the verbal daggers thrown your way at the ACC if you did that.

I've been to a ton and what a stupid question on your part.

The last free throws to determine if your second last or last. I could imagine you and DH front row cheering for him to make them. That's how clueless you guys are.

I think your construct of the enemy SSH is misguided, and you should pay it some more thought.

Honestly, I can't even understand you guys anymore. No one (other than you maybe) would cheer for JV to miss free throws regardless of the outcome. I've never seen anything like that here at the ACC although we've never been in that exact situation.

Either way, you should take up the cause if you feel so strongly about it, go to the games and boo the team. You and realblizzy might even get a movement started. That'll show MLSE you mean business.

Hell, the ACC gave last season's team a standing ovation in the last game of the season. Think about it, a 34 win team got a standing ovation.

If these guys can build on the post-Rudy .500 record, you guys are going to have to go up against a beast at the ACC. That place is going to be rocking if we're in the playoff hunt.

Good luck!

That right there is the problem with our fans and fans like you.

IF we were in the situation were making two free throws means we drop from #1 overall pick in the draft of the decade to #2 overall, if we cheered to make them and win a meaningless 82nd game of the season, dear lord. What a stupid bunch of basketball fans that would be, almost as bad as cheering Jeremy Lin on for game winners!

LOL Reignman seriously what's wrong with you?

I'm not cheering for him to miss free throws in the NBA title game, it's the last game of the season and it will determine if we get a 25% at Wiggins or a 20%. This is so stupid and I'm not sure why I've even responding because all you're doing is trolling and wasting people's time.

If you want to go out there and cheer with DH for JV to make 2 frees throws so we sit second last instead of last by all means go ahead.

I hope your ST's were well worth it.

Is it really that hard for you to understand why the vast majority of Raptors fans don't cheer against the Raptors?

I know you're not that obtuse.

Listen, as I've said many many times, the team will determine it's own fate. We're not the players, coaches or management, we have NO say in the direction the team will go. As a fan, it's my job to support my favourite team (or else I wouldn't be a fan) while it's the job of the organization to build the team.

In the scenario you described, if the org wanted to tank, you wouldn't even see JV on the floor, you'd have Gray playing instead. If JV was on the floor I would think the team was trying to win.

Nope, I keep telling these guys that, the last time I had seasons was in Bosh's rookie year.

Edit: That was primarily the reason I created an account here after lurking for a couple of years prior. When I went to the games I had a few people around me I used to talk ball with at the games but once my seasons were gone (uncle's company sold their seats) I needed to get my fix elsewhere even though I was still taking in 10-20 games every season.

So you haven't been a STH since 2003 ish but still come here to talk down on everyone who isn't like we don't mean **** and aren't fans.

I honestly don't feel like I have a "job" as a fan.

I want the team to win in the bigger picture. If that requires losing in the short-term, then I will want the team to lose in the short-term.

I won't tell you how to cheer, of course. But for instance the extra games we won in the season we wound up drafting terrible Terrence Ross, I distinctly remember posters on here (not you) crowing about building a winning culture, tankers being losers, etc. Then of course all of us, including some of those high-on-the-horse anti-tankers, were depressed when we wound up picking 8th and almost all the great prospects were off the board.

(And then BC just gave us a nudge off the cliff by refusing to draft the consensus best prospect left, but I digress).

I won't tell you to root for losses -- like you say, what we want from the team has no effect on the team. But some of these ideas about what makes a good fan/true fan are ridiculous to me.

Everyone here is unusually dedicated, everyone here has invested a lot of time in a **** product and I'd wager everyone has invested some amount of money in this team. We all have exactly zero say in what the team does. But I don't really doubt the fandom of anyone here, honestly.

Obtuse?

We all support the team, we post on a forum for f*** sake. Don't try and act like you and DH are superior to everyone else because you want this mediocre team to succeed when everyone knows they aren't going anywhere. You guys are not real fans that's what you have to understand. You're not intelligent enough to see the big picture and instead want to see a .500 team get slaughtered in the playoffs, and even that's not a guarantee (as they will probably not make it).

I can't keep arguing with you guys every week about the same crap. Keep dreaming of the team trading 3 draft picks for Al Horford. I can't really stomach the arguments coming from your side because they don't make any sense. I really don't care because the inevitable will eventually happen and a re-build will come to fruition (and no not in 2 years).

You guys support a re-tool and we support a tank. Let's leave it at that.

Who did I talk down to? I haven't said anything other than you guys should make your voices heard and that at the ACC the crowd is there to have a good time and support the team. If you think the crowd is going to boo the team or hope they lose in order to tank, that's probably not going to happen.

That's not talking down, that's the reality of watching live at the ACC.

I don't either and I've never called anyone a fake fan. I keep telling these guys to go to the ACC and boo the team if they choose to do so. They just won't have much support.

Everything I've stated is from my personal perspective. Personally, if it came to the point where I feel like I'd need to boo the team then I'd take a break. I got close to that point during the Jose/Bargs/BC years but never went over the cliff.

And are you sure being a Raps fan isn't like a job? Look how much time we kill because of this team. :D
