You mean...do nothing? I'm already prepared for that. Many years of trade deadline letdowns have prepared me for this outcome.

That would most certainly result in having the 13th pick in the draft and nothing else to show for it.

Well they did "nothing" the Tampa year except for trading Norm for Gary and they tanked pretty hard. If they choose to tank they are going to be 5-8th worst going into the lottery if their track record holds. They did nothing with Lowry and got us Precious in a sign and trade. If you expect 3 to 4 trades you will be disappointed for sure.
When will we just change the name of 25 of the 30 teams to the Washington Generals?

Please advise….

Trent for a pick and a player is the only thing I see happening. Address the rest in the off-season.

Mark my words...the most commonly uttered phrase around here around the trade deadline will be:

"Masai and Bobby asleep at the wheel again!!"

To me Suns and Magic as potential suitors in free agency is clearly a message to the Magic that they need to trade for Fred now and can't just sign him in free agency.

TRoss, Bamba and 2023 2nd.

TRoss gives the Raps that bench scorer who can heat up on 2nd unit
Bamba gives the Raps the big C who can hit a 3
2nd is an early pick...so gives the Raps chance of getting 1st rd talent at 2nd rd cap hit

That fills 2 holes we clearly have while still getting a future piece.

I think they will likely move Thad and probably Juancho too. Might be all rolled into one trade or separate smaller ones. Boucher might be moved. Fred is probably the 5th most likely. But I don't think they are move all of them at the deadline in some massive shakeup.

If it said around here it has to reflect reality, doesn't it?

I don't even get what the Celtics need from Poeltl other than injury insurance. They already have Williams and Horford to play all 48 minutes at the Center position.

Poeltl is too good to be getting DNPs on some nights and do you really want to give up a 1st rounder for someone who might not even play when you're healthy?

If I know Masai and Bobby the way I think I do, once the deadline has passed, they will come out and say they tried to get some things done but the market was slow, prices were too high blah blah blah. same thing they say every deadline.

Meanwhile, there will be a few valuable pieces that move. Us fans will look at those deals and say "why didn't our FO get in on this" or "why didn't we get in on that".

Then people will say Masai and Bobby must know something we don't and they did the right thing blah blah blah

Then in the offseason we sign FVV to $120M/4yrs and Trent to $100/4yrs.

Two FRPs for an expiring role player would be crazy. Poeltl is decent but has his flaws. We better not trade our 2023 pick for him.

Insanity.

He's a free agent at the end of the season. And if they land Wembanyama, he's effectively useless. But I still respect it lol.

Two firsts at 29 or 30 overall, is a lot less than two firsts at 13 to 15.

By retaining Fred we retain the current offensive playing style which includes Fred wanting to take over games and throwing the ball into the bottom of the backboard.

I am extremely bored with the current offensive playing style. Our defensive schemes I can live with, but too often it ends up being Fred's job, the shortest guy on the floor, to run out and guard the perimeter shot. The defensive schemes need a taller PG.

I've pretty much checked out this year unless we see Nurse actually start to develop some players. Will my interest disappear next year if it is more of the same?
