Would I trade Ja Morant for Scoot..... yes, I think so since Ja plays so reckless and seems like a higher risk to get injured.

Can finish going left or right. Can grab the rebound and start the fast break.

Brandon Miller and GG Jackson while being 6'9, Baba at 6'11 might be able to play some smallball C. Regardless, he fits what Masai is is trying to build.

He looks a bit slow but we all know it takes time to get your wind. I'd like to see him doing some guard/wing like moves soon. As a big he isn't more intriguing than a guy like Filipowski, but if he has guard skills it changes the game.

He was a 6'2 guard entering HS.

He makes some nice passes after penetrating into the lane.

He still brings the ball down and starts his shot from his hip. :(

First game in a long time for Miller so we’ll see where he is by end of year. Likely needs a team to be really patient with him

Baba looks expectedly rusty, not conditioned yet (obv). Tough too he joining a crappy squad by the looks of their record. But overall it’s obviously going to be tough to jump in more than halfway through the season. Like I’ve said part of me is almost hoping he’ll kinda work through rust, maybe even come off the bench bit then in a shorter timeframe get into a rhythm toward the of end the season. Somehow remains sort of a best kept secret, slides to us in the draft & we get him…but likewise I’ve also he may be a pumpkin too lol so we’ll see in about a month’s time how he’s progressing.

But in the moment, if we can’t hold onto a top 7 or so spot in the draft him, Jarace Walker would be my favourites with GG & Black not too far off.

Yeah, I know he was the size of a guard before. But he's still moving like a big in this clip, hence more time needed. He's rusty and understandably so. But he'll also need to show guard skills to separate himself by draft time. If not he's pretty much your average NBA big.

He seems to be mocked in the late 20s, but I could see him falling to the 2nd round and being the stretch 5 we need.

If we're not going to move Van Vleet and get under the cap to sign an FA center, I could see something like Boucher, Thad, our 2nd rounder (let's say #43) and a future unprotected 2nd for Joe Harris and their first rounder (from Philly). They save 6M next year if they cut Thad and get 2 okay veterans to help for this year, especially if the move happens like tomorrow, with KD out and lots of minutes at the 4 to fill.

Then you can draft him or a microwave bench scorer with the 2nd first rounder, after we go for BPA (as long as he isn't a 4 who can't shoot) with our own pick.

I don't think he's exciting enough a player to be the main return for Gary Trent in a trade, but the Knicks have the Mavs 1st, so add Quickley and Fournier's ugly deal and you've added some shooting:

Precious-Filipowski-Koloko
Siakam-Barnes
Barnes-OG
OG-1st Rounder-Quickley
VanVleet-Quickley-Flynn

and then the MLE for either a center as a one year band-aid, a PG or another shooting forward for depth since OG will start at the 2. Not very exciting, but I could see it.
Where's the D?

Keep your expectations low, he hasn't played this season. Plus it's going to take some time for him to develop. If some teams drafts him top 5, I will get on stage and slap that GM.

Oh, my expectations were down. I didn't think he played well really and didn't really flash anything. Clearly has good size and mobility for 6'10. But I didn't see much of the guard skills everyone was talking about. Still lots of time obviously and it's his first game of the season.

Agree. He looked better at the U18. He doesn't really have guard skills, just because he used to be a guard doesn't mean he was good at it. He can make the right pass like Scottie but Scottie isn't a guard. He will get better, let's see how much better by the end of the year.

I'm with you. Unless he actually has guard skills he's no better than say Ware. IMO they'll both be potential stretch bigs. But in Wares case should be a pretty good defender also.

Scoot looks absolutely phenomenal. He's the one player in this draft that has my jaw on the floor watching him.

What i love is his mid range game. He's kind of got some Lowry in him in that he can get to his spots when he wants and shoot from anywhere. That will help him in the long run that he already has that in his game vs a guy like Morant

Absolutely. I know everyone is head over heels for Wemby, and for good reason.

But my guy in this draft is Scoot.

LOL! We walk away with Wemby and Jalen Wilson?!? where to I sign? He also has Jarace above Cam... wild!

The Athletic has us taking Ausar at #6, and Sidy in the 2nd round (with Jalen Hood-Schifino still on the board). Also not a bad outcome!

This is crazy deep. We have the potential to walk away with a blue chipper, and a really interesting piece in the 2nd
