Let's see how the rest of December plays out. Multiple back to backs, game against the Lakers, another Western road trip. I think the Raptors have been playing a bit over their heads (and they've also been weirdly fortunate to play a bunch of teams missing their stars), and by the new year we might have come down a few pegs.

As a pro-tanker, I can't say I'd be disappointed.

I'm all for drafting Kyrie. But do people think he is the only all-star potential talent in this draft? I haven't had the chance to follow much NCAA this year. I'm waiting for the tourny.

Not surprising given his extremely impressive performances. I hope he keeps it up, the kid could be great.

Well for tanking fans we are only 2 games up on NJ for last place in the East and still have 61 games to pick up on the Kings, Clippers and Wolves.

Raptors land #1 pick. Irving withdraws from draft. Raptors choose Harrison Barnes

We will probably always be relatively close to the bottom of the league and at the same time close to the playoffs. Not bad enough and not good enough.

Nobody expected to go in the top-5 is going to withdraw.

He is the reason why I am pro tank. The saviour. Chances are low of getting him, especially if we end up with 35ish wins, but perhaps the stars will allign and we will get him.

If Donatas Motiejunas falls to us, we will get him for sure. BC will convince everyone that he is BPA.

That top 3 looks about right. Always thought Barnes was nowhere near a legit #1 talent.

I'm good with a top-3 pick. I think the tank has been fixed and we're good to go now.

I'm certain we'll have a fair shot at Irving. We might not be the worst team in the league but when it's all said and done I think we'll be bottom 5.

Should come as no surprise he is head and shoulders ahead of the competition right now.

I said in the draft thread that we probably should be focussing our glare elsewhere seeing as I doubt we'll be terrible enough to have a crack at him. we may be a top 5 (i'm thinking 6th) but not bad enough to get top three where we could use our second 1st round pick to entice one of the other teams to swap picks.

While it is still early these numbers look great and will definitely fit right into our "philosophy" Here's an excerpt from the article that I particularly liked

On a team that has never been shy to get out in the open floor, Irving has pushed Duke's pace to a full throttle. They're playing almost seven (72.1 compared to 65.5) possessions faster per-game than last year, with Irving replacing the more conservative Jon Scheyer being the main catalyst behind that change. The biggest part of Irving's offense (27%) in fact comes in transition, according to Synergy Sports Technology, and he's been extremely efficient out in the open floor. Also seeing big chunks of usage in isolation (23%) settings and on the pick and roll (22%), the way Irving is playing and getting his production couldn't possibly lend itself any better to the NBA style he'll need to transition to next season.

THAT is precisely what we want from our PG
