Curious question...How much would you guys be willing to give up in order to move up in the draft to get Irving? Also how much do you think it would actually cost?

I think it would depend who finishes ahead of us. If Wash and Minny grab 1 and 2 and we get three I'm sure it may be possible that we could work something out to move up.. Hopefully. Still to early to tell. Everything is just speculation at this point. Depend on how the ping pong balls bounce.

the longer Barnes takes the more likely he will enter the draft.........unless he's milking the attention

I know Williams can score but what is his D like? and P Jones too for that matter

I'm not sure what he'll decide, but I think if the decision was the foregone conclusion that that idiot Iowa reporter made it seem, he would have piggybacked on Zeller and Henson's announcement.

At this point, I believe he really doesn't know what he wants to do. But I hope he declares.

Williams was the biggest guy in the starting lineup and had to guard the 5s and 4s but he usually did a decent job of defending them and occasionally coming up with important blocks/steals. And it's really hard for someone with Williams' role in college to give great efforts at both ends. IMO hes not going to have too much problem guarding NBA 4s but we'll see if he can guard the 3s as well

thanks. trying to convert a college 4/5 to a nba 3 seems like the right fit for the Raps :)

Its a tough call on Barnes, I'd like him to be in the draft but almost because no one outside of Irving really intrigues me. But does he declare and be the next Marvin Williams, that would suck.

Yeah. If it turns out that Williams cant play the 3 at all and we play Williams/Davis/Bargnani together, Williams will be like a 4 playing the 3, Bargnani 3 playing the 5 and to a lesser extent Davis 5 playing the 4. Cool

Man, I really hope we can stick in the #3 spot and hope for some lottery luck. If Barnes enters, getting one of Irving / DWill / Barnes is a dream scenario. I think there's a big drop off after those three, so we've gotta keep losing and hope that we don't get pushed down to 4 or 5 by the lottery gods.

The absolute lowest I can deal with is 4th where I'd include Kanter in that group. Anything lower and I'll throw a tempter tantrum aimed at David Stern.

Don't be surprised if we get Vesely if we don't Irving or Barnes.

The only guy I really love is Irving. If we get the #2 and Cleveland loses the lottery, I'd be interested in trading the #2 for #4 & #8 to try to get something like Kanter/Val & Knight/Walker.

I'd definitely want Kanter/Valanciuanas/Perry Jones/Williams (or even Terrence Jones) before considering Vesely... he's not a good defender in the Euroleague, and is not good handling/creating with the ball. He's more of an athletic finishing type with an ok jumper.

According to Chad Ford's current mock, this is the Raptors' board:

1. Irving
2. Williams
3. Barnes
4. Jones
5. Kanter
6. Valanciunas

If Barnes returns to school, Jones, Kanter and Val would obviously each move up a spot. I think it is safe to say the Raptors need a top 5 (with Barnes in) or top 4 (if Barnes is out). Ending up with Valanciunas would be disastrous.

Agreed. I'm very intrigued by Vesely and I'd love to get him with a second pick. But he's too risky to take with our pick - he just hasn't proven himself enough from what I gather.

Which Jones? I'm assuming Perry, but I'm not sure.

Pretty much exactly what most of us have too.

It's gotta be Perry Jones... ending up with Val wouldn't be bad I could live with it cause we would have a true center and Davis/Val would be a defensive force inside for nears to come.
