Relax. Perspective. If I would have told any of you back in November that we would have just taken a 3-2 lead on the Brooklyn Nets you would have all told me to get lost. Granted, it wasn't pretty, and there is a lot to cleanup. Giving up a 26 point lead at home is not good, but we fought through it, and got it. Its a wake up call, and I think it disheartens the Nets and we win on Friday.

When you're up 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, etc...with 1 minutes to go, what to do, what not to do. Example, up by 5 and Amir leaves his man in the corner to help out on a blow by going for the 2pt lay up is just a total lack of discipline and understanding situational basketball. You gotta stay with the 3pt shooter in the corner and concede the 2pts. You're still up 3, and they have to foul. Hell you don't even have to make both free throws, making 1 out of 2 makes it a 2 possession game...................unless you foul 3pt shooters and give 4pt plays like the Raptors did.

Despite the win, I'm extremely upset right now. This utter stupidity in the 4th should be the number 1 focus and teaching tool for tomorrow to educate these low basketball iq players.

You nailed it right here, I understand these guys aren't robots but they made almost every incorrect decision for the whole fourth. These are things that really make you wonder about Casey, it's lack of understanding of the situation and that comes down to coaching.

That said......soooooo happy about the win

Under contract to Nyets for another year at $3.3M. Signed undrafted. Good find by Nyets.

Honestly, if this was not a playoff game, and it was just a regular season game out of 82, I actually would have hope that the Raptors lose the game instead just so they can be taught a lesson. Teams make comebacks all the time, I get it, but not like this. The mistakes that were made, you almost never see it. I am calmer than I was 30mins ago, but I'm still bothered by tonight's game.

Did he do something offensively?

Couple of 3s and a nice finish off a Lowry dish. But yea, he was shaky at times. Baby steps though.
It's just unfortunate that he can't guard JJ and Pierce and is forced to play DWill. They forced mismatches ...JJ on Derozan due to this.

Not letting DD off the hook. He can't defend JJ at all.
Prediction
Spurs in 7. Parker MVP. Lebron 6-17fg, 18pt, 8reb, 5 asst in game 7 LOSS.
The Heat will choke!

We practically did everything to give that game away in the 2nd half. Chances of us collpasing like this 2 games in a row are slim but this is why us Raptors fans are never comfortable with a lead.

Way I see it is it was everyone's fault.

In terms of the players, this is what happens when you play 4 nail biter games and then blow a team out. Simply, you get cocky and relax. This is what the players did.

Casey also got cocky and relaxed. Played Hayes and salmons way too long. JV was dropping duncan-esque points in the paint and then sat WAY too long. He played 25 minutes. He's 21 years old for God's sake.

JJ abused salmons and what is Caseys adjustment? Not going to your bench and finding Fields who was your solution to JJ in game 2. It was to put DD on him who also got torched. Smh.

And that last inbounce pass? WTF was that. I'm gonna give casey the benefit of the doubt and pray to God he didn't actually draw that up.

All in all, no such thing as a ugly win. Lucky number is ONE.

Go raps go.

Possibly the most nerve wracking game I've ever watched. Can't we just win comfortably? Is it so hard? ; _ ;

mtcan wrote:So how long was Joe Johnson playing with 5 fouls? How did he manage not to foul out? Who was JJ covering on D?

This is on Casey because if he knew that JJ was at risk of fouling out...he'd better be running play after play through Demar/Ross/etc...whoever gets switched onto JJ. JJ's either going let you get what you want or pick up that 6th foul.

Any good coach would have recognized this...

Lesson learned with a big scare. They got complacent and the nets came back to take them. Just a tiny bit of a push from the nets and we go down 3-2.

Joe johnson is pretty good but we dont have anyone of size other than fields that can match up. Salmons is horrible right now.

Those brooookkkkllyyyn chants woke them up.

I don't care if it did. That had to be one of the greatest moments in nba fan history. A TROLLING CHANT. Unbelievable.

Yeah the original brooklyn chant sounds like a taunt, so its perfect

That was the funniest moment of the game.

I'm glad we won but my heart can't take much more of these nailbiters  I just want to see a win by 15+ points

All that matters is the win.

Memphis also blow two big leads to OKC and won in overtimes, we've seen Houston and Portland blow big leads in almost every game also.

Nobody cares about how big the lead was, but only that the end result is a W.

If anything this might be a blessing in disguise for game 6 and give our a players a sense of urgency to close out the series the right way.

one more post for perspective... i think most of us are just really upset because we EXPECTED AN EASY WIN... hell, people were already making PG threads at halftime... but let's not forget, this is the playoffs and we're facing a team with "experience" remember??? you can never count anyone out... but the point is, our main guys came through at the end when it mattered and sealed the deal... and we're now going into brooklyn with a 3-2 lead... MOMENTUM IS IN OUR FAVOUR!

We made some really stupid passes that ended up giving them free points off breakaway dunks/layups, committed stupid fouls on 3-point shooters, they were hitting every shot in that quarter while we couldn't put the damn ball in the basket. Everything pretty much went wrong. I doubt this happens again, but damn.

Been horrible for damn near 2 months. Ain't like that is going to change any time soon.
