fml....

Lowry loved being in Houston, and he's talked about the fact that he was immature when he was there and he wished he handled things differently. This is not looking good for us at all.

The only thing we can hope for if this happens is a sign and trade for Chandler Parsons.

I didn't expect Houston to make Lowry a top priority...

Oh, and analytics.

There's the Rockets pitch.

If he left on bad terms it can't be comfortable having McCale in his livingroom. I mean like what a way to wax nostalgic.

We offer Lowry nothing except money all these teams wooing him are way better than us , I'm shook

Again I don't think Houston with Lowry is a contender, and I think to get him they won't be able to get Melo. Regardless that is a discombobulated team that doesn't work.

1 team wins the title guys, and Howard and Harden is an overrated duo. Adding Lowry wouldn't make it a contender.

Would absolutely be awful planning on his part.

Come on now-stop that. He is a Free agent*, one that has a very good chance at resigning.

Statements like that...poor planning?How?

Poor planning (potentially) as in not trading Lowry last off-season and passing up the opportunity to tank in the process.

So did we get there at midnight or did he lock Masai out while Morey and McHale were inside?

People talk about how Houston did him wrong but we were close to dumping Lowry ourselves

I believe this is the article...

"I would have done things differently in Houston," Lowry says. "I really respected Kevin McHale. I wish I would have had an opportunity to play for him longer. The things he was teaching me, well, I didn't understand right away. When you get away from someone, though, see it from the outside looking in, you go back and think, 'Damn, I could've learned some more things from the guy.'

The GM traded him. And he dislikes the coach. I'm not very worried.

We need to send #WeTheNorth brigade to lowry's house. I'm disappointed in Leiweke I expected more in retaining lowry services. We shouldve sent DD , Drake , and Amir to lowry home instead we had 2 clowns beat us to the punch.

Somebody tell me WTF we aren't locked in there, with Morey's arse on the outside trying to get a boost from McHale so he can sneak a peek?

Fake championship team - Dwight does not have the mental make-up to lead a team deep, Harden is allergic to paying D, and lastly, the team is still coached by McHale, who Kyle is allergic to.

On the other hand, did Masai drop the ball by letting Morey be the first to talk to Kyle in person? I have to believe we got our shot first... a bit earlier

Completely different situations though. In Houston, without his or his agents knowledge he was relegated to the bench then traded. Here Masai told Lowry in the off season that he needs to smarten up otherwise he won't have a career.

He also told him right from the beginning, the team may rebuild if they arent doing well and he may get traded. As WOJ reported, Masai was upfront with him and Lowry values that along with loyalty hence why he has a good relationship with Masai.

The problem is, Lowry is one of the top "attainable" free agents this year. And his attitude this year showed a total professional maturity. So I have no doubt there would be many bidders for his services. Once the handful of max guys stay put (Big 3) or jump ship (Melo) there isn't much left to choose from.

The downside of losing him is immense, and it's worth the $2-3mm overpay to keep him from being tempted elsewhere.

The assumption you're making here...that he both turned his rep around in the league and that a lot of teams will think he fits well and would be willing to pony up for him, I disagree with.

I'd take my chances, like I said before. Make a fair offer up front, give him an option of years, and stick to it. I would not be reactive to what a team like MIA may or may not do, in fact I'd use that uncertainly to my advantage. We are uncertain but Lowry will be too, I'd be betting he doesn't want to turn down a 4/40 type of deal to test the waters considering his lack of previous big paydays. Say MIA is his only serious suitor (I have my doubts), they would only go after him if their other plans fall flat.

Well, now that Houston is so obviously eager to snag him, including Mchale visiting in person, I think we can say for certain his reputation has obviously turned around.

I don't understand how so much of our fanbase who saw him play his ass off for us every single night is reluctant to pay the guy. Other teams saw it too.

Now all we can hope for is that Masai read the lay of the land accurately and makes a pitch that Lowry can't refuse.

We have to root for Lebron or Melo to join Houston now, because if they don't, then there's a lot of money for Lowry and a team close to contention.

Well I'm hoping the Raps where talking to him until 11:59pm which is legal cause he was their player until 40 mins ago

If Masai indeed just makes a phone call when he's locked all of team's fate on this guy, then I have to question intentions and/or intelligence.

I seem to recall Lowry still owning a house back in Houston. Can't be sure of that though. They will definitely try to offload Lin and his backloaded contract on us if there's interest from Kyle though. Morey has already tried to offload Lin to New York and probably remembers all those Asian Toronto fans cheering Lin on to beat the hometown team at the peak of Linsanity here.

But that was years ago. When Lin's returned there has been far less excitement, right? The Linsanity fad seems to have died faster than bubble tea businesses.
