We are, but if we're hoping for a higher pick, we need to fall into the bottom seven.

You see folks... no tanking the whole season was needed! Another 10 games without a major winning streak and player rotations will start looking different. Players can feel like they tried, management and coaches didn't give up on them and they'll be even more motivated to get back into contention next year

Silver needs to make it up to Masai for slandering him in that interview by giving us the first pick this year.

Looking at the next 10 games, I could see us going 5-5, maybe even 6-4. I don't see any significant losing streaks to force Masai's hand one way or the other.

The deadline is after the next 3 games. Team could look different after the nuggets game.

A good chance the team wins the next two as they shake off the rust. A trade before our next two games could net us a couple extra losses, but at this point it shouldn't matter too much. We're in good enough spot with our reord where the sellers position should happen either way. The variable is likely the return on the market. I'd be on the side of taking a lesser return regardless just to improve our own pick, but I assume Masai has a floor for returns which could see us stand pat. That would be a mistake.

If we lose Kyle for nothing in the off season, that would be the biggest travesty. That would be Kawhi, Gasol, Ibaka and then Lowry? The 4 key pieces of our championship team gone for nothing in return? Horrible mismanagement of assets.

You can't count Kawhi because there was no option. Just sucks that he chose LA. But Ibaka, Gasol and Lowry...its just dismantling. It's crazy

Colin Sexton goes off for 40 points! :D Then tired from the back to back, face the Houston Rockets, who drain 20 threes with Kevin Porter Jr and Wood putting up 30pts!

Team mediocre members just don’t want to admit the team isn’t that good so they blame everything/everyone except the core itself. Baynes, the refs, Silver, Florida, Nurse, etc.

Unfortunately for us, our schedule gets pretty easy for the next month. From March 21 - April 26, we play a lot of bad / mediocre teams.

I'm typically not a proponent of tanking because I don't think there's much of a correlation between top picks and winning titles (at least with the team that drafts them). However, between playing in Tampa, Covid pauses, bad luck, this season is really looking like a write-off. I don't see much sense in trying to compete for a chance to get bounced in the first round, especially when a chance to land top 5 or 6 lottery odds is essentially just as close. Embrace the tank, if only for a few months.

Remember this streak when the Raptors get a top 4 pick from the lottery.

2-8 start and the Covid streak. :D

Yeah, the Nets game is when the schedule starts to become a nightmare. I feel like this trade deadline will determine what kind of team we will be. If we want a high lotto it’s crucial we trade Lowry and potentially Norm. If we don’t make a trade we might have potential to be a mediocre low seed playoff team. Which is obviously worst case scenario.

I was willing to give this "playoff push" one last shot when the team seemingly turned things around. When covid hit the team, my worst fears came true with our players.

There's zero talent outside of VanVleet, Lowry, OG, Siakam, Powell, Boucher. We were spoiled when we had the bench mob outplaying our starters back then. Now that bench mob has mostly became our starters and our dumpster diving for those feel good stories of undrafted players are showing why they've been drafted late or undrafted.

This team needs a major talent infusion (aka a high lotto pick) to show that this season isn't a total loss. Finishing the season and only having Boucher emerge would still be extremely disappointing. Winning the play in only to be praised by Brooklyn after 4 games will hurt us hard in the long term. Our current group of guys don't need these playoff games for development..... they've already tasted it.

That is the crazy part, outside of the guys we already knew were capable of being part of a really solid say 8 man rotation, the only emergence has been Boucher and its highly likely Lowry is gone.

Boucher has been solid, but he is also 28 with one year left on his deal. The weaknesses in his game just aren't possible to correct at this point in career. His frame is his frame.

I'm not expecting and trades to happen unfortunately. Not with Lowry / Powell at least. Although deep down I hope Lowry goes to Philly at the deadline.

We're destined to finish right around 36 wins for the 7th/8th seed, playing one of Philly / Brooklyn / Milwaukee in the first round.
