It seems like the draft is always fixed and the team with the most losses never gets the first pick.
But im still all for tanking. However, i don't think we are the worst team in the league though. I think the clippers have the best chance to get Irving since they always luck out in the draft. (I pray they don't)

We are bad enough to not tank. There are going to be a lot of losses where we look horrible. Its why pro tank doesnt make sense.

If only we could be so lucky...Washington got Wall with the 5th best chance.

I hope we draft Donatas Motiejunas so I can enjoy the implosion of RealGM.

Well, he would certainly be in our draft range, their are a couple of teams that are better at this tanking thing than we are. We wont be able to beat them for the #1 Pick.

The age limit wins again. The more time GMs and fans have to assess these players outside of high school competition the less chances of drafting a bust. Lebron, Kobe, Garnett, etc all would have looked terrific as freshmen so they would have been drafted even higher as more sure things.

The only people who lose in the age limit rule is the players and the agents of high school stad padders. It's win-win for GMs, veterans, fans and the league.

So....I see all these people hoping to get the number 1 pick miraculously and draft Irving.

What makes you think he even likes Toronto and won't leave after his rookie contract is done?

This could be applied to any player.... What exactly is your solution? Draft a worse player? What if they don't want to be here?

Ignoring that for a second. Restricted free agents can't leave after their 1st contract anyways.

And ignoring both those things. If we have a good team, and a player is getting paid he's probably going to be just fine in T.O

We should probably just fold the franchise, I guess.

He can sulk and demand a trade, what about players who actually like Toronto and want to play for us?

I'm just saying before we jump on the Irving bandwagon, we should probably hear his opinion about Toronto first. Bargnani and Derozan loves it here.

So what do you suggest? That our scouts go around the div 1 circuit asking lottery-projected players what they think of Toronto and then only consider drafting the ones who have given a positive review about the city? That is some of the most dumbfounding logic in regards to drafting a player I have ever read.

How about we just draft the best player available at the time of our selection and let the rest take care of itself? God knows how many players we'd have to pass up on before finding one that not only speaks glowingly about Toronto, but has actually been here before.

This may not mean much but Kyrie wasn't born in the states. He was born in Australia, spent 2 years there then moved to New Jersey where he played ball. So I doubt living and playing in a different country is going to be a big deal. Plus New Jersey isn't that far away from Toronto. If we get the number 1 pick and he comes in for a workout then we'll find out what he thinks about the city.

Everyone will be happy with our "tough" play until we get the 11th pick next year.

He can also sit on thew bench for four years on a rookie contract and rot. Or he can play.

I always thought Vancouver made a huge mistake in trading Stevie Francis because he did not want to be there. I would have let him rot for a year and told him, he had to play so well so Vancouver could get true value for him.
