Wasn't Vesely awarded the young player of the year award? Think he's proven more than any Euro prospect in recent years

Pending WAS miraculously getting back to back #1 picks...I think Barnes will go second overall.

I think most GMs will recognize he started off slow and he had kept at the pace he was by mid to end of season he would of been either still the fav for #1 overall or at least battling Kyrie for that spot. Also I don't think it's too much to suggest that most GMs probably think Williams will be a solid player but unsure if there is any star potential PLUS he may say he's a NBA SF but that is yet to be proven.

Harrison on the otherhand is clearly a SF, perfect frame, great attitude, was the undisputed top pick before the slow start and has the potential to be a star....I don't see how that slips past the 2nd pick nvm the top 3.

Got me worried :(

If that is our board, Colangelo is on the right path in my opinion. I don't know how he would have our board though since that's pretty confidential until at least draft night.

I think I like Derrick Williams over Irving. The guy showed me he was a man among boys in the NCAA tourney. I think he'll have no problem playing the 3 infact 3's are going to have problems covering him cause he's so strong and good.

Hypothetical: Cleveland get's 1st, and take Irving. Now, we have the 2nd, and Barnes decided to stay another year at UNC. So, out of Jones, Williams, Walker, Valanciunas or Kanter, who would you take? I feel like I would take Williams, I am really warming up to the kid. I like his ability to score, tenacity and explosiveness. I feel that, down the road, he will be more of an impact player than Beasley will be. Thoughts?

With Barnes out, I agree. Take the best player available. We are in no position to draft for need. Right now the main objective is to collect assets and deal with it later on.

Williams might be the 2nd best talent in the draft behind Irving, maybe only PJones has more of an upside

add to that Williams is a competitor and leader and I think he's the obvious 2nd choice, maybe even with Barnes in the draft

he seems like the core type of player you build around

The way things look right now, I highly doubt any gm would draft Barnes over Derrick.
I believe that Cleveland, Washington and Minnesota have him number 1 on their big boards, where as us and Sacramento probably have Kyrie number 1.

I'm good with that list. Still not high on Perry Jones because of the type if player that he is (a 6'11" guy that wants to be a SG). He obviously could prove me wrong, but I'm not banking on it. It's kind of like having a C that wants to drive to the hoop & shoot 3 pointers. The focus is just in the wrong areas.

Mine would be:

Irving
Barnes
Williams
Kanter
Jonas V.
Terrence Jones

Edit: I think Williams had a better chance to be an allstar at the PF poistion than Barnes at the SF position. I just want Ed as our PF moving forward.

Not sure why people keep saying Williams is a SF. The guy is a PF in the mold of a Blake Griffin, but with better length.

I think my board's the same. Perry Jones could go anywhere from 2-6 though IMO

I don't think ending up with Val would be disastrous, I actually like him a lot but not with a top 5 pick. I have this gut feeling that his stock is going to drop and he's going to be picked somewhere around 8-12 because scouts know that he's such a project. Some mock drafts, like draft express, have him going as high as #3 but I just don't see him getting picked there, I also don't see him getting picked before Kanter as he's not as much of a gamble. I would like to see BC maybe try to trade for another later lottery pick (Barbosa?, Reggie?, Bargs? (I wish)) and pick him up then.

As for Ford's mock Raptors board, I like it but I would argue picking Barnes ahead of Williams just because I don't know where Williams would get minutes on this team with ED and Amir. I like Barnes because his skill set is really complimentary to Demar's and also the fact that he would probably be given the starting spot right away which would help with his development.

Yeah, he put's me in mind of Joe Alexander, but if anyone has watched him extensively I would like to hear your opinion on him.

Which Jones? I'm assuming Perry, but I'm not sure.

It's gotta be Perry Jones... ending up with Val wouldn't be bad I could live with it cause we would have a true center and Davis/Val would be a defensive force inside for years to come.

Hypothetically

I duuno. Just seems like wishful thinking. The one thing I feel with Derrick is that he's NBA ready. Has the body to take a pounding. I'm still not sure if he's "Naturally a 4-3 or 3-4. I'm leaning 4-3. Cause he plays big.

Kind of like me. Because of my height I've usually had to play PF. I'm only 6'3 might I add. But I have SF skills. The speed and a jump shot. Just don't get to use them as much. I just feel he's more a of a 4 right now. Draft combine/workouts/measurements will answer all the question about D Will, P Jones, Kemba Walker and even Kanter/Val.

But i'm torn between Barnes and Williams.
