Tough to make trade suggestions without knowing the new CBA, but how about Bargs to Wash. for Singleton and their 2012 first. Maybe take on Blatche to make it work from their end. The Wiz just seem like a team that "thinks" it can make a big jump with a 20 ppg PF. They have an actual center (JaVale), their wings shored up(JV and Young/Crawford), plus Wall. Maybe they could be really good? Just not likely next year - which nets us another top ten pick (in my estimation) as well as Singleton a solid defensive prospect. What do people think fair? Too much?

I can't imagine why Washington would do this.
Would anyone in their right mind trade 2 1st round picks for a stiff like Bargnani.
Do you want them to throw in John Wall too?

Come on now. The trade is them dumping Blatch and handing over two mid firsts - from their point of view. Obviously they don't make the deal if they think they'd end up in the bottom 10 again. Bargs is worth Blatch and two mid firsts. Singleton was close to 20th.

Statistically Blatche is probably a better player than Bargnani.
But Blatche is a meathead, so one could argue that Bargnani might have a bit more value.
But Blatche gets paid a lot less, so that evens things out.
You're dreaming if you think you could get Blatche AND 2 mid firsts for Bargnani.

I'm a Wizards fan, and NO WAY IN HELL do I make that trade, especially if we have to dump Blatche for nothing to make it happen.

The trade maker is in fantasy land. No way we give up Singleton AND a 2012 1st round pick for Bargs. Bargs is a pretty talented offensive player, but he's a very bad help defender, just like Blatche. We don't need anymore of those kinds of players. We need to change the culture of this team. We also don't want his contract. We have plenty of future cap space, and we're not going to hamper it by adding an average/above-average player in Bargs.

And we're not dumping Blatche. He had a pretty bad season last year, but he was coming off a broken foot, and came into the season rusty and out of shape. Blatche reminds me of Bargs in many ways. Both are very talented players, but both are also lazy, have questionable work ethic, and play bad help D. But I even think Blatche is more talented than Bargs. If he commits himself into being into tip-top shape, he'll be an All-Star. He has elite handles for a big man, is quick, has post moves, is a good mid-range shooter, and is a great passer. I think the only thing Bargs has the edge on him is 3-point shooting. We're not gonna just dump him for peanuts. His contract isn't that bad, and with one good season, he can change from being overpaid to underpaid.

He recently said this on a charity trip to Jamaica:

“I’m still an up-and-coming player,” said Blatche, who bounced back from a broken foot to average 16.8 points and 8.2 rebounds last season. “I just want to be mean and tough in the paint, work on my jump shot and become more consistent. Work on my body. My goal is to be one of the best players in the league.”

He's very skilled, and if you don't think he is, watch this.

This is when he was out of shape too.
oard a lot, it's because I like y'all roster. I started watching y'all a lot towards the end of the yea
Not ragging on your team/players though. If anyone has noticed me on the Raps br. Y'all have a solid, young roster with potential. I think all y'all need is a franchise-SF (there will be plenty in next year's draft), and maybe a true PG (I'm not sold on Bayless).

WhatsaTDot wrote:Well it takes two to tango though. Why would Minn want Calderon and Kleiza? Especially at the expense of what they're having to give up. That trade doesnt make them any better while giving up relatively valuable players - certainly in contrast to what they're taking on.

Minn will make a move to make them contend for 8th or better in the West. This isnt that deal.

Yes, it takes two to tango. I am just suggesting a trade based on rumors.

1) TWolves was rumored to be interested in Calderon for being a solid PG and a Spanish to mentor Rubio
2) Beasley just got into the law again which had lower his value and the TWolves just drafted Derrick Williams, so Beasley is definitely on the block
3) TWolves got a very young team that they may be interested in adding a solid role playing vet like Kleiza who is a solid backup SF/PF at a solid contract to back up Derrick Williams and Kevin Love.

Luke Ridnour is a solid PG, but if the Twolves would get Calderon then they don't really need him.

Brad Miller is just a thrown in and definitely not seen as a valuable piece to the TWolves. They would definitely play Milicic and Pekovic over Miller.

Beasley is high risk high reward. His value is hard to guess at this point as a lot of teams would avoid troublemaker like Beasley (he was traded for 2nd round picks).

Would anyone here trade Bayless and a filler for Beasely?

Or even something like Bayless for Wes Johnson..?

The Wolves have 3 young talented SFs and at least one of them should be expendable... we should really try to make a push for one of them, especially considering the fact that our weakest position is arguably the SF spot.

Absolutely not.....I would only take Beasley as a filler with someone better.

The Wolves are definately overloaded at SF but Wes Johnson is not worth clogging up OUR sf position (JJ & Kleiza) where pending getting #1 overall and Drummond declaring we will be getting a SF --- and one much better then Wes.

So you think that BC will trade for Beas now when he could have had him for nothing a year ago?

That logic applies to any NBA GM employed when he was available. If any of them trades for Beasley the logic fails.

No to Beas and Wes Johnson. Wes has been in the league for like a year, but he would already be one of the oldest players on our team if he were to come over.

so we'd have a calderon/barbosa backcourt?

that has to be the worst backcourt in the league.

I don't do it. I like Bayless more than Wes J

What do you guys think about Amir Johnson and/or Andrea Bargnani? Do you only would want to get rid of their contracts or some valueable pieces for them?

Amir Johnson's contract is just fine and would take some valuable pieces while most fans would just as easily dump Bargnani's contract but would still expect something decent back for him - like a top 10 pick ...just my guess.
