hey, at least we are not buying Lowry out to let him go where ever. Some raptor fans were suggesting Lowry has "earned it".

Why are we adding Flynn? Im sure that Heat fans would be content with Lowry/Norm

We have to be reasonable guys.

We're already getting Herro and Precious who I'd value at a first round pick each. Dragic still has value and Olynyk still has value as well. Assuming that there is an extension being negotiated for Lowry for another two years, they'd keep him but there's no guarantee they'd keep Powell. That's why I've thrown in Flynn.

Otherwise, you're looking at Herro, Precious (both long term assets), Olynyk and Dragic (that we can re-sign or flip for additional assets) for the expirings of Lowry and Powell (of which they're only guaranteed to keep Lowry). Objectively speaking, that seems wildly expensive, even as a Raptor fan.

This is the trade right here. We buy-out Iggy, maybe re-route Olynyk to some other team or cut 1 of our many expiring scrubs.

I could live with this BUT I see more value in Dragic than I do in Flynn. That may just be a person opinion but I've never though much of Flynn.

In any case, I can admit that a package including Iggy's salary is probably more attractive to them than moving Dragic who is still a solid contributing NBA player. He's great for their depth and we'd get to see what we have in Flynn.

If Miami gives a pick that is 4-5 years down the line, then make it unprotected. Not ideal but could actually be a top 5 pick.

Which is exactly why they won't trade it.

Im not sure how i feel about us being the one who pays Lowry. I thought tbe whole point of paying him that much last time was so that he would come back on a team friendly deal once it was up?

Its business just like what they did to DeMar. Everyone blamed DeMar for being loyal but can't handle Lowry going full business mode.

He knows he can get money from us so he will go for it.

That's 100% what I thought too - overpay now, gentleman's agreement for a team friendly deal later.

Man, am I the only one who think Tyler Herro is wildly overrated? You look at his stats and think he must be an AMAZING defender to justify the hype.

sitiuation changed, if we were still good we could see that future, the covid pandemic, giannis resigning, playing in tampa, tough start to season, the 9 game losing strech just leading up to trade deadline might have changed plans on both sides.

If we get Dragic as part of this deal, I hope we flip him alongside Norm. Like maybe Norm + Dragic to Dallas or something like that to extract more value and incentive for other teams to pull the trigger

Nunn and Duncan really do nothing for us. It really has to be Herro. They have nothing else other than Achiuwa but him alone isn't enough.

The playoffs really helped him. But he's probably the best we can get for Lowry considering the teams he wants to go to.

This. He's overrated for sure, but he's the most intriguing out of the rumored prospects. Still very young as well.

I'm not ok with paying Kyle $25M a season. That would eat into a bunch of their cap space and limit their ability to go after FAs, especially the RFAs.

At 21, with his shooting and shot creation abilities, he's the perfect guy to take a home run flier on.

Still has 2 years until his 2nd contract and then another RFAed portion.

We'd be damn lucky to get someone like Herro for Lowry and I can see why the Heat are saying no.

Though trying to push us to take and then pay Duncan Robinson is non-starter for me.

I'd be stunned if the Raps come away with Herro. I don't view him as a blue chip prospect, but dealing him for Lowry seems like a shortsighted move on Miami's part.
