So for JRoy, Bam and PG are better than Siakam.

Interesting to know.

Bam is definitely off the table, Heat are clearly looking to be buyers this offseason.
I don't see Zion being traded either, or Ingram for that matter. The Pelicans should look to run it back and hope Zion is healthier this year, plus they have the #14 pick. Really solid roster over there.

Who other than Siakam can they even pursue? Kristaps? Give me a break.

Don't see how either of those guys would put them in a higher tier than they would be with Siakam. None of the 3 are top 10-15 guys currently.

PG potentially could if the year was 2019, but he's PG half a season now. Bam's a great defender but he's more of a 3/4 option on a great team.

I'm sorry but I'd keep Pascal Siakam over 33yr old, 50-game Basketball Paul - if I'm building around Damian Lillard there aren't many questions that Pascal would be the most ideal fit. If they don't see it that way then it's their loss. Very unlikely a deal gets done around Bam Adebayo but even then Pascal provides more to that team in my opinion.

This board has a tendency to insanely undervalue or overvalue our assets. Pascal is by far our best player and an all-NBA talent who would thrive on most contending teams, not to mention that he has already done it once before and won it all.

With all the news coming out of Portland and Toronto, my best guess is both teams have their finals offers and both teams are waiting for the other to blink.

Odds are nothing happens…sadly

POR trades:
Anfernee Simons
Jusuf Nurkić
2023 #3 pick

TOR trades:
Pascal Siakam
Precious Achiuwa

Fair? I think it's fair.

Building on this, who’d do the following?

Portland trades:
Anfernee Simons
Jusuf Nurkic
Shaedon Sharpe
2023 #3 pick
2023 #23 pick

Toronto Trades:
Pascal Siakam
OG Anunoby
Precious Achiuwa

So Blazers starting 5:
Dame
OG
Grant
Siakam
Achiuwa

Raptors starting 5:
Scoot
Simons
Sharp
Scottie
Poeltl

Or

Simons
Sharp
Miller
Scottie
Poeltl

I do not agree.

Much better to grab the guy we want at 3 and enjoy developing him under team control than trade for a soon to be very expensive 2nd banana.

Why is he very expensive? He didn't even make all-nba and isn't likely to next year due to the new rules making all-nba positionless. Seriously when did Siakam somehow become overpriced? He'll be making 40-42m/year which is just fine for his skillset. Did you think you could pay a 2nd option 30 million?

Time to be realistic JRoy.

That’s pretty expensive. Better to go with the rookie.

Odds do favour nothing happening, for sure, but offers will continue to evolve until the draft starts.

I’m not sold on Scoot. I know that is the minority opinion.

This is essentially just Windy saying the Blazers want to trade the pick for help but are posturing to ensure they get the best return possible

My guess is Portland is either asking for both Pascal and OG or Pascal and the 13th pick.

Masai might be holding firm and insisting that Pascal alone is enough value for the the #3.

OR

our offer is OG and the #13 for #3 and Portland is saying its not enough.

I agree. I think Pascal's next contract will be reasonable for the reasons you mentioned, and because I think his next 3-4 years will be his best. Yes he just turned 29, but he had by far his most well rounded season last year. Because he entered the league at 22 years old, he has only played 471 regular seasons games, which the number of games someone like Paul George has usually played by age 26/27. His timeline fits well with Dame's timeline.

I think Pascal's efficiency would take a huge jump with him not being the #1 option. There were nights he was forced to take a ton of tough shots because Nurse's offense was a mess and he was the clear #1 option. This resulted in bad shots, but they were ones I am sure he would've preferred not to take. I do not think it is unrealistic for him to average 25 / 8 /5 on good efficiency (60% TS) as a 2nd guy, which is worth $40 million when you factor in that he is a super switchable defender who gets to the free throw line and is a beast in transition. He was at 23 / 8 / 6 on 56.5% TS this year in a garbage offense on a team that asked him to play hero ball most nights.
