It's just tough to see where we ended up. I already am very pessimistic about the ceiling of this team and we really needed a big result yesterday to avoid the treadmill. Where do we go from here?

We got less screwed than Utah and Washington who were the poster children of Tank Nation so I'm good with it

Yeah, but I don't watch them unless forced, so I'm more concerned with us, lol.

Worst case scenario was kind of just adding a role player with some upside to this core and letting the Scottie/BI/Poeltl era play out the next 3 years. It’s not so bad but yeah our trajectory is kind of set unless we hit a home run with the 9th pick or some other type of move.

There are only 2 teams in the league that rank in the top 6 in offensive and defensive efficiency: the Golden State Warriors and the Toronto Raptors.

Fire Masai. We should have won more games to give us a better chance at Flagg.

Wonder how Danny Ainge feels with zero prospects to show after 3 years of tanking. Keyonte George, Taylor Hendricks and Cody Williams lol.

That guy is going to get fired

Don’t worry! Silver already informed them they would be getting one or both of the boozer twins for their troubles since their dad played for them.

It's kind of funny how based on the reactions, people are acting like if we picked top 4, we were going to end up with a franchise talent but now that we pick 9th we will end up with a role player.

Quick look at the projected 1st team All-NBA and you would see Tatum 3rd pick, SGA 11th pick, Mitchell 13th pick, Giannis 15th pick, Jokic 41st pick.

Sure, everyone wants the highest pick possible but there's high end talent that will go anywhere in a draft, it's all a crap shoot.

I'm not gonna say the draft lotto is rigged but I will say the NBA lottery bending to good story lines is a funky coincidence lmao

how can you not make Dallas get the first overall pick after they traded Luca... draft needs to be done live for integrity purposes.

Silver felt so bad for that city that he even gave them Paige Bueckers too

Not a single team in the bottom 4 got a top 4 pick. That's pretty crazy lol.

Tank at your own risk. How's a guy like markennen suppose to take a leap if he doesn't play? Should they sit him out another year? Lol

yeah we should have lost more games but players gonna play and coaches gonna coach

at this point the strategy has to be find another disgruntled superstar and trade for him

Charlotte did but they're cursed so they were never going to get Flagg

Imagine being in Utah or Washingtons spot and moving down 4 spots for no chance at a superstar after the year they had.

Markkanenn is also giving interviews back home talking about how stupid tanking is, so there's also that.

I'm not sure why this would be the case. Would you rather be the Jazz, who tanked and didn't make the playoffs and ended up with the 5th pick, or the Raptors, who also tanked (not hard enough) and didn't make the playoffs and have the 9th pick?

And there's your answer to the dissuasion question.

Well that sucked, but on the bright side it feels mildly better knowing how futile tanking was for all the big tanking teams this season (except for Philly really and they're stuck regardless with Embiid's long term injuries and PG's absurdly bad contract).

Whatever you can say about us picking 9th, it's better than being Utah and Washington, having absolutely nothing rosters and picking 5th an 6th after winning less than 20 games on the year.

Utah's not going to get the kind of prospect they imagined they would and very few of their prior prospects from the last three years look like anything, except for Sensabaugh and Walker maybe and they cannot continue to not play Markannen who is absolutely done with tanking and is less valuable now than he was. They're not going back for another year of tanking so they've got their roster going forward.

Washington has some prospects but they're all projects, and they're going to be bottoming out for another year for another shot at perhaps not getting the pick they want.

Like I don't think we're building any kind of contender here, but I think I can at least look forward to watching some talent on the team next year and see how it plays out year to year (along with a prospect).
