Well we all know how this will play out. Weems will sign else where because he doesn't want to play in the shadow of Demar. A few years later, Demar will become injury prone, demand a trade while playing like absolute crap.

Neither of them has nearly the talent Vince had. He was a once every ten years kind of athlete. T-Mac wasn't far behind in athleticism either and at his best, was arguably the better player. I like Demar and Sonny, but to mention them in the same sentence as those guys is a joke.

If anyone thinks these guys are similar they are high.

The only commonality is Weems being in DeRozan's shadow and the athleticism although both Carter and TMac were better respectively.

When it comes to SKILL Vince Carter and McGrady absolutely OWN these 2 and would make them bench warmers I don't care what age they were/are.

Isn't he 6'6? Besides his wingspan isn't too bad for his position, 6'10, so he should be good.

In shoes AND rounding up (6'5.5"). He's 6'4 w/o shoes which is how the rest of the world measures people :)

From a long and suffering Raptors fan...T Mac and Vince were honestly in my opinion two of the best players to come into the league in the last 15 - 25 years...mis-coached, mishandled, mismanaged..COULD have been two of the best players EVER..imagine those two in a solid franchise with a great coach...we would be talking first ballot H.O.F...trust me I have been following the NBA since 1983...they are once in a lifetime "talents"...between the ears not even close but god given talent and athletic ability...I would say only Dominique Wilkins, MJ, Shawn Kemp and maybe Kobe come close...also keep in mind Kobe worked his ASS off to become the athlete he has become...
Instead I think wow what a shame the way their careers went, the franchise went and ultimately the league. They COULD have been huge together. Sports is a funny thing, That's what makes greatness so great becuase there are so many opportunities for it to take a bad turn, so many variables like injuries, drugs, bad decisions...as great as MJ was, he was also a product of great circumstances

I would say you need to give some more thought to your VERY short list of most athletic players of the last 30 years. And I would argue against asking people to 'trust me'. It doesnt add any support to an argument.

Agree with a lot of this. TMac in particular should have had a much, much better career than Kobe. Unfortunately, things did not work out...

From Demar's twitter. Personally, I think they are getting ahead of themselves...but I can't help but be excited.

personally I think these guys have turned a spotlight on themselves without having reason.
I knew a Raptors player who liked to make himself the focus using Internet
But after some seasons

these guys are exalting himself too soon

TMac in his prime, before injury was showing glimpses of being possibly the best offensive player ever.

Yes... ever.

Vince Carter in his prime, like him or hate him, was probably close to the best player in the league at the time.

DD and Weems are not even CLOSE to their level, even if you're counting potential.

I agree on all accounts. A healthy Orlando T'mac was something scary, dude could score 45 without getting out of bed.
