Given that there may be a shortened or lost season due to the lockout, you'd probably be wise to pick a player on a European club contract who can stay another year and develop playing real games that matter.

For me, Biyombo is the swing for the fences pick, and in a draft as awful as this one, you might as well have a go. The team needs a miracle.

Quite the statement from someone who's probably never seen him play.

Ive seen him play a bit just not impressed.. He's getting some nice love because he's a big body in a weak draft..

If the biggest knonck against Walker is his outside shot, then you take him. Its noteven like we have to break down his shot form and build it back up again from scratch. No, hes a puller. Shot selection and some fine tuning will help him out a great deal. We've seen Demar go from no jumper to being compared to RIP. Walker is legit and is the real deal imo. Great player to have when plays get broken and you need a bail out. A P&R up top with Kemba and Bargs with Derozan slashing is going to be rude!!!!

I would hope so seeing how he's one of my fav players. With BC back on board controlling the ship, he knows his #1 priority is to find a C to experiment with Bargs. If Bargs is gone tho, I still like a backcourt of Kemba & Derozan.

We gotta take the BPA. "Best Pointguard Available"

Knight or Walker. If Knights gone, you take Walker. If Walkers gone, you take Knight.

I don't trust any of the bigs in this draft.

Please select an athletic black American kid from the college system. We've done well with DeRozen and Davis so far, I'd love to see a third athlete added to the youth movement.

Is it confirmed he's only doing solo workouts? If so there is no way to evaluate his D and rebounding.

A bit? What games? Do clarify because many NBA scouts have had a hard time seeing him play.

But hey, scouts should just base their assessments off yours. To state beyond a shadow of a doubt he will be a bust after watching him for a bit, which I will hazard a guess = I have never ever seen him play period, is quite impressive.

Just to be consistent there is not enough evidence either way to make him a high selection. He hasn't played one college game, most who support him are just reading limited scouting reports and looking at his size.

What's even worse is he won't be working out with other bigs so to gauge him in the workouts is still highly iffy. My head says "take him he's big and can't be that bad, look what all these people are saying about him" My spidey sense is saying nah b... this dude has high bust potential why won't he workout?"

I was wondering if someone could separate into 2 categories:

1) NBA Ready Prospects (not much more to grow)
2) High Risk-High Reward Prospects (need time and work before their ceiling is known)

I am not too big on draft prospects, just what I learn from people here. Just want to know the top 10 players in these categories.

Brandon Knight, no question about it... if he's available. IMO him and Irving are the only guys with all star potential in this draft.

Brandon Knight is the best prospect on potential alone, his incredible development and accolades since high school are more than enough use the 5th pick on him .

I love Kemba's game and hope we can get him at 5, but I am also intrigued by a DeRozan/Leonard pairing on the wings.

I'm not so much anti-knight as some here I actually think he has good G potential with his size and reasonable quicks, and high ceiling. I think he has good guard skills but to call him a PG at this stage is premature. One would hope he grows into that role but there are no guarantees.

Just throwing it out there- maybe the reason he won't compete against other college guys is simply because he is not in game shape. Sure he can look great and slim and muscular what have you, but nothing puts you in game shape except.. y'know playing in real games. He hasn't done it in so long he would be at a real disadvantage in terms of sharpness, reaction speed etc

I know if I was in his position I'd be a bit nervous about going against guys (even much less skilled ones) coming out of an intense NCAA tourney after I'd spent all year just in the weight room/practice courts.

If Kanter drops, I want to take him.

That's a good point and needs to be considered but really its not like he was injured all year just not playing in College games he was able to work on every aspect of his game.
