Leandro Barbosa remains a free agent. I would love to have him come off the bench again (instead of Buycks/Augustine). He's still only 30 (bday Nov 28th).

Unfortunately if we signed him, even for the minimum, then we would be over the cap. Can't see Masai doing that

I'd rather have Buycks, has more upside IMO

which trade would you like piston our bucks for rudy gay

raps
gay
lowery

bucks
butler
ridnouer
Ilyasova
antetokounmpo

our

raps
gay
johnson

pistons
monroe
charlie v
stuckey
singler

I like both trades 1st one raps get rid of both gay\lowery and the get back exp plus the fill certain position mean time and the get back to decent piece in Ilyasova and a prospect in Antetokounmpo possibly be there starting 3 going foward.2nd trade gay\johnson hate to lose amir but the piston will want to add him if they give up monroe that be awsome to have him in the raps future front court with jonas big building block for sure, raps get expirings with stuckey and charlie v (it be cool to get charlie back even if its short while someone was sayn get him and buy him out our put him on waivers our something but id rather get rid via trade\buyout etc of stuckey cause if that trade went down he wouldnt be useful charlie be more useful if this deal were to happen cause they need a back up pf) singler is still young player and could fill in at the sf postion for time being and possibly the future.

Whoa spelling. I'd prefer to have the pistons group of players, (expirings + greg monroe) but I would prefer not to move amir johnson. I think that Rudy Gay would be enough for Monroe and expirings. They could have hansborough and gray instead. Plus, I doubt that they want to take on more long term salary commitments.
I believe in Masai.

They have a ton of stock placed on GH now that they cleared out the vets, we'd have to offer something more substantial than just Ross to get them to consider it, considering Ross has been underutilized in his rookie season.

I would love to get Lamb on this team too...I would make some type of deal that sends Amir that way to get Lamb in return and Ross could be traded for a couple of 2nd rounders in 2038 for all I care but really I would look to package Ross with Lowry for something else.

What has Lamb shown thus far that you'd be willing to give up the heart and soul of the team (Amir) and also throw away Ross (who had a much better first season than Lamb)?

I just don't get your logic?

Took me a while to understand your post but in short I don't want any assets from Milwaukee and I don't see them giving up a future first round pick

Pistons, I would probably accept Monroe + filler for Gay

Hey guys, since it seems we're gonna roll with this roster for the foreseeable future, what about shoring up the C spot?

Landry Fields, Terrance Ross, Aaron Gray, 2016 Knicks 1st
for
Marcin Gortat & Shannon Brown

Gives us a very solid C pairing of Gortat and Val, and Brown gives us a needed scoring punch off the bench.
PHX gets a young 3D wing in Ross, a future first, and they also increase their odds at Wiggins.

Thoughts?

in the day and age of salary caps, it makes little to no sense to trade any future 1st round picks unless you're getting a bona fide stud back. and that isn't Gortat.
Gortat also sees himself as a starter, so him playing here and wanting 25-30 min a game isn't going to happen.

Could Gortat play the 4?

what about something like Ross + Fields + Knicks 1st + Lottery Protected 1st for Ersan Illysova. Its a Steep price to pay, 3 1st essentially, but we are getting back a potential all star on a cheap 4 year contract that provides the skillset and spacing we need.

Lowry - (Buycks / Augustine)
DeRozan - (Morais / Wright)
Gay - (Daye / Novak)
Illysova - (Amir / Acy)
JV - (Hansborough / Gray)

depends how he sees himself. i'd say so (just by eyeball testing and not looking at stats). but now we're back to investing a lot of possible money at the 4 (him and Amir) and possibly not enough at the 1. and that draft pick....and never mind that, by trading out Fields and ross and getting rid of Linus, we're pretty thin

I think we'd gain a lot of flexibility off the bench though with the ability to bring in Amir as the 1st big. Amir can play either position it seems. If one of JV or Gortat got into a foul situation, you'd have the option to slide the other to C and play Amir at the 4.

I'm not sure what it would take, but a rotation of Val, Gortat and Amir would be very intriguing. Good paint D, Gortat provides some decent post scoring and Amir is great at the PnR. And then Val maturing, that's a good trio.

The only problem with Gortat is he is expiring. So we are going to give up young assets, then have to pay to keep Gortat. I've long hoped to have the guy, I think he is a great fit on the team and the city. I also think the flexibility of two quality centers is a great model. Unfortunately I think we have the wrong PG to play with him. Dragic is actually a better fit then Lowry.

"For some reason, I just don't like trades with Amir in it. I'm not saying he's a 'superstar' but he's one of those players that you want to keep and make sure he retires with your team.

An excellent hustle player who I want to keep as a sixth man"
I agree totally with rapsanity... it's a business, but, sometimes you have to see beyond that.
