I wanted to play the Bucks until I read that article. Give me Washington. I hope we pummel them.
haha, tbh, you're actually right in a way. I wouldn't say he's the most overrated but he wouldn't be where he is if he didn't have KG/Allen and that's the truth. PP had Shimmy Shimmy on his team (Walker, when his teams weren't as good) and VC was better than him, I'd say Pierce had the better career though but in terms of talent, Pierce isn't close to Lebron or even VC at one point. The reason why he says he'd love to face Lebron is because he he was obv a lot better than he is now and would get into Lebron's head which I can see happening. Pierce is probably one of the most clutch guys in this era though and I will give him that, although putting Jose on him in crunch time isn't the best move he'd still score big buckets against most teams when it mattered.
Having KG by his side has made him even more cocky, I remember Pierce saying "I'm the best player" and KG being the ultimate teammate agreeing with him lol even though it was KG who was the real MVP of that Celtics team. Pierce is a legit HOFmer, he's similar to Bosh in a way(I know, it's probably not the best comparison but just their work and worth in their respective positions), Bosh was a star before he paired up with D wade/Lebron and so was Pierce before the big 3. Bosh had his strengths and was seen as one of the best PF's in the league just as Pierce was seen as one of the best SF's, Pierce was sick and clutch and Bosh is a really good player and will go down in the HOF eventually because he actually won the championship a couple of times.
Think about it
Tmac
VC isn't a sf so I wouldn't count him
Pierce
Peja
I know I'm forgetting people but it's been so long, Pierce was up there as one of the best SF's in his time and that alone is good enough. He was a star but really became who is is during the time with the big 3, without them, he isn't the same. He still won't be close to Lebron or even VC/Tmac in terms of talent but having the teammates he had and injury-free career for most part goes a long way.
Lebron eats all of course.
I just don't like when either really old guys or new basketball fans who just started watching in 08 overrate rate players, Pierce was pretty good (star talent) but his credibility went up after joining the big 3.
