Max ($15M>):

Chris Bosh,Blake Griffin,Zach Randolph,LaMarcus Aldridge,Marc Gasol,Kevin Love,Brook Lopez,Roy Hibbert,Tyson Chandler, DeMarcus Cousins

$10M-$15m:

Al Jefferson, Josh Smith, Nene, Derrick Favors, Joakim Noah, Serge Ibaka, Al Horford, David West, DeAndre Jordan, Kenneth Faried, Marcin Gortat, Tim Duncan

$7M-$9M:

Paul Millsap, Jordan Hill, Channing Frye, Ryan Anderson, Omer Asik, Taj Gibson, Boris Diaw, Dirk Nowitzki, Pau Gasol, Amir Johnson

$5M-$6m:

Robin Lopez, Jason Thompson, Patrick Patterson

There are no bigs who play >24min who get paid below $5M. Amir has being starter and key contributor to team that has won 48/49 games. He is UFA. Cap is expected to explode and players salaries will increase by ~30%. In what world does he get paid $3M ?

If we can get him for $7M-9M range, that would be a win because that actually would be a paycut for Amir when the cap increases next year.

Funny. All the guys you mentioned making more than $6M per are starters.

Taj, Diaw and Anderson aren't starters. And Hill wouldn't be either on a decent team.

Edit - If Amir was willing to sit a season to get healthy id say he is worth more on the Raptors, probably $8M+

Fits the step back scenario, in other words he gets shut down. I think, if I am betting, they sign him to a no raise two year deal with third year player option on the understanding he does in fact get surgery. That's 7, 7 and his option for a third year at 7. If he shuts down we could plan to have Hans, 2015 pick Harrell, or other drafted big, and JJ hold down the fort in his absence. His presence as senior Raptor is worth half his contract. This assumes KL and DD go nowhere which at the end of the day is the safer money IMHO. I am speculating Hans and Amir to be both brought back.

I wouldnt have a problem with the 2+1TO/$14+7M contract if he agrees to sit out, pretty sure we could get cap relief as well so we could still find a one year replacement for him. But unlike you i really dont expect Amir or Hansbrough to be back, n i hope DeRozan n Lowry arent either. And for me i take a guy like Amir on any team the only question is dollars, id like him as the 3rd big off the bench with Patterson backing up the 4 and a true center backing up Valanciunas.

[F] Barrett - Agbaji - Battle

if we do keep this guy he definitely wont be starting. Hed be a good back up big considering thats what hes always been and I think Masai knows that. Anyone who thinks hes going to get 9 mill is probably expecting him to be a starter. The only way i see him coming back is on a bargain contract and thatll most likely mean he took less money to stay here. He seems like the type to want to stick around so who know. I think hes offered something around what Patterson is making and with his injury concerns it might be less

I value Amir and all he has done for this organization but, I only see one role for him back-up small ball C. Casey loves small ball so only 8-10 teams need big back-up C. I could see us offer 3 @ $16.5 mil with third year being $6 mil and team option. Give him 16-18 minutes each game back-up to JV if other team is not long. If he gets more on open market they overpaid.

Sorry if you don't agree with the value I put on Amir for next three years. In order for him to play full season 75+ games added playoffs if we make it I feel this is his real value. 45% of board agrees with me. 31% suggest $1million more and I could see that with Cap going up so maybe $5.5 mil this year then $7 mi, the next two with last a team option. I'm paying based on potential value and last year's results. If you want him as starting PF I can see you paying more but I see him as back-up small ball C and would pay about MLE for that. That makes him paid right not overpaid.

Ok fine, how can somebody have declined quite a bit with essentially the same production?

And it doesn't matter if you don't like it, that's the way NBA salaries are going to work and what the market will dictate.

Uhhh maybe you need to re-read the first post....

No idea what you're talking about.

Literally the entire OP states how AJ's stats have been consistently declining since 2007, jesus this isn't difficult to grasp.
