Good enough that he played 29 minutes as the backup and they couldn't take him of the floor in the 4th. Pretty great game.

That's how the guy always plays so no worries about it being a one game outlier. Our defence got a huge boost with him and Ibaka added and it will help the other guys as well.

The guy leaves his heart on the floor and will fight for everything.

9 points, 3 steals, 0 turnovers, 10 rebounds team high off the bench

and he defends thier best player in the clutch

easy win

Pj will not regress, check the scouting report on him from 2006, hes the same guy who plays hard for every single play. His quickness is still there and so is his strength despite being 31 yrs old. Id def give pj his contract, he will not roll over and get lazy, you know what youll get with that guy.

That was my fav part of the game. He was giving DD pointers on post defense. Lord knows he needs it lol

A great teammate. Other Raptors players probably too scared to help DeRozan with his defense, they don't want to offend him.

PJ Tucker is a real one

The play of the game to me is when he completely shutdown IT on that drive and stripped him of the ball

Yep that was definitely my favorite play as-well. My pick for defensive play of the year for us, given the situation, score, the fact it was against Isaiah Thomas.

Pj A++, Ibaka A+

Fantastic additions to the team, very very very pleased. We HAVE to keep both.

Also, has this guy played for a winning team before? I wonder how he feels about our ruckus crowd.

It seems like something happened in the locker room at the half and Ibaka/PJ affected the whole team on D and intensity as soon as the 3rd Q started.

PJ is going to give your team everything he has every game. He takes pride in playing hard every day and playing every single game. He rushed back from back surgery to start the year so he didn't miss any games which is why he struggled mightily early this year.
Coaches love him and can't keep him off the court, to the dismay of fans that want development time for their young players.
PJ gets away with a lot definsively, refs will allow him to hold, push, and get up in offensive players, even star players don't get many calls on him. Earlier this year he wrecked Anthony Davis and Carmelo. Those were very memorable defensive games. You guys probably remember him playing well against DD in that last game in Toronto, too.

PJ will give defensive pointers to his team mates and help them understand where they're supposed to be and funnel offensive players to stifle them.

PJ is going to make a couple eastern conference teams regret not trading a first for him when he's helping the raptors beat them in the playoffs.

Really great post :D .

Spot on about the point about him giving defensive pointers to teammates. DeRozan had a really bad defensive play on Jonas Jerebko, and Tucker raced over to him and started giving him some pointers on how to defend that type of play. You could tell he genuinely cared about helping DeRozan out.

No, he has never played for a winning team except for you...you drafted him...can't remember if that was a winning team but he didn't last long and was the only Sun ever who played as many seasons with the Suns as he did and never made the playoffs, so of course armchair fans point that out.

Yeah he completely owns DeRozan and DD admitted it today before the game. Said people always ask him who's the
the top 3 defenders he's faced and he said Tucker is on the list.

I liked him when he was a rookie on the Raptors
