Interesting pull from Blake Murphy's piece yesterday.

Credit Marcus Smart for being the variance king in this one. He only hit 21 corner 3s all year (at 33.3 percent, no less) and didn’t even attempt one in the first round. He was 5-for-7 in the corners Sunday, with most of them coming as a defender scrambled out to him after helping elsewhere (plus that one sweet off-the-dribble fade)

Made the not so hard decision to go for a 40km bike ride instead of watch the game today. Since I could watch it later I figured either way the decision will pay off.

Zach Lowe also mentioned that according to Second Spectrum, the Raptors 3 point FG% should've been much higher based on the shot quality and location of the attempts. The data shows it should've been higher than the Celtics.

Collectively, I think there was some let down overall but I don't think we'll play that poorly tonight, numbers dont lie.

When will we just change the name of 25 of the 30 teams to the Washington Generals?

Please advise….

6 Things I am watching for today:

- How many corner threes do we give up or flat out contest? GIving up less means we have gone away from our base defense a bit but I dont think Nurse will do that entirely

- How many clean looks does each team get out of their base offensive sets.

- How many Pascal PnR sets do we run, how much off ball stuff, where are his shots coming from?

- How often do we screen with Kemba's man and how often do we hunt him in general

- Marc's shot attempts from 3 and in the post

- What are the PnR coverages (traps, blitz, hedges, switches, going over, going under)

Ignaz Semmelweis: "It's impossible to shoot 36.9% from the field in two consecutive games."

Christiaan Huygens: "I've noticed that the Raptors would've held the Celtics to 97 points had it not been for that irreplicably dreadful 1st quarter."

Actual quotes. :D

On the bright side we still have some room to bend and not break. That being said we looked extremely brittle.

Winner of game 2 (regardless of game 1 result) goes on to win the series by what percentage again? The odds of winning the series if you go up 2-0 are around 80% historically. Kinda do or die at this point.

Normally I'd disagree with you and bring up last year vs Bucks as an example. However, no HCA in bubble and the only way to shift momentum is to win games on your own with no fans in attendance, and I think I'd have to agree with you. Might be doom and gloom but if we lose game 2 I think there's more of a chance this is a sweep than us winning the series.

Ahh, Tony Brothers, NBA on a mission.
Organization can be defined as an organized body of people with a particular purpose. Not random.

If I remember correctly playoff Tony Brothers usually good to us vs regular season Tony Brothers. Really hope it's not 5v7 this game.

There is something about Kyle Lowry that brings this out in Marcus Smart. I think Smart believes he can be a better version of Kyle but he has never got there because he can't shoot it, but he always tries so hard against Kyle.

He's a wild card more than anything. Zach Zarba is the best. Could be worse.
