Re: GIVE FVV MAX!
He's a good player but not max. He's on the Dragic/Brogdon type level of PG. Team will be crippled if they give him the max espeically with Siakam already maxed out. Its like how great Biyombo was here, got over paid and no one heard from him again.
FVV and Siakam is not a championship core for the future. It was a bit tough to watch two 6 foot pg's go up against Tatum and Brown on switches. One short guy is enough.

FVV is pretty cunning. In his final interview he wears the Raptors t-shirt but normally he is rocking his own gear for self promotion

Fred is definitely getting at least 20 M , but more likely 25 Mil.
NY and Detroit will offer him that no question.
There are a lot of teams who can create cap space easily this summer
Norm is getting 11 Million. I wouldn't give him more than 15.

Re: GIVE FVV MAX!
I would do Fred for Dipo in a heartbeat.
Who's beating this?
PG: Kyle/Pick
SG: Dipo/TDII/Thomas
SF: OG/Norm
PF:Pascal/Boucher
C: Gainnis/Serge

This only works if:
1) Fred wants to go to the Pacers and the Pacers want to pay him that much.
2) Pacers willing to give up Dipo to make room for Fred.
Not sure if this will play out.

Raptors would easily do fred for oladipo. Are you able to add other players/picks to a sign and trade?

Why would the Pacers do that?

I was just responding to the posts above me. I agree that the pacers wouldn't do that straight up, which is why I asked if we can add more to that transaction to make it more realistic.

Re: GIVE FVV MAX!
No way Fred is a max player. He’s a reliable three point shooter with range and plays decent defence.
That said, he can’t finish at the rim and he overestimates his own talent. Too much over-dribbling and he’s prone to dribble to nowhere. He has no hops and is not young either. He frustrates me as much as any Raptor, even though I’d like him back. But he’s not worth anywhere near max money.
Fred is a good system player who fits with the Raptors. Not sure he’d have the same success with most other teams.

I can get what they're saying there, it really depends on how much Pacers still trust/want him. I would still like to resign FVV at a fair price, I would consider S&T only if he demanded more than that (which is very possible). We should assume Pacers would want to overpay him more than we do.
P.S. You have good soccer taste

IIRC, Bosh wore Raptors gear in his last interview. But Fred's interview was hilarious.
Q - Have you thought about free agency?
A - Every day. I've got lots of time to practice my craft and think about the future. People are always telling me how much I'll be offered.
He just undercut the standard "just been focusing on the next game, I'll take a break and then consider the option" BS response that athletes - e.g. Marc yesterday - usually give.
