If TD isn't a defender this season again, I can see Flynn taking his minutes. TD has more size and dribble penetration skills but Flynn could already be the better defender, shooter, floor general.

Flynn is a point guard, TD isn't. Flynn is the 3rd best ballhandling guard on the roster, right now. He makes the right reads on both ends of the court and is exactly the kind of player that Nurse trusts.

TD, assuming he's with the club, will compete with Norm and Thomas for off-guard minutes.

I understand what you're saying but I don't agree that they aren't competing for minutes.

McCaw, despite being a very limited offensive player, was getting a consistent 20+ mpg last season shows what gets PT on the Raptors. Nurse will increase the minutes for guys who understand the schemes and reduce minutes for guys who do not whether their position is pg, off-guard, center, or whatever.

The reason why I brought up TD is because out of all the bench players likely to get minutes (not named Boucher), he was the most lost defensively last season. Thomas despite his limitations was looking fine defensively in the bubble and looks like he is prepared to take the next step. Norm and McCaw are both solid defenders.

I really hope TD steps it up on that end but if he doesn't, I'm expecting unbearable complaining on why their favourite prospect can't find minutes while the worst NBA player Patrick McCaw plays.

^^All season posters whining McCaw is stealing minutes from Thomas and Davis. Low and behold when it matters in the playoffs, while McCaw is injured, TD still does not play. TD is holding TD back when it comes to his minutes on this team.

Flynn’s all-around game is kind of like George Hill who also came into the League at 22.

Yeah. It's not exciting but it's the truth. He wasn't reliable enough to do what Nurse wanted him to do most (defend, take care of the ball).

He was only a rookie though so hopefully he worked on cleaning up his game and comes out strong this season. He has all the talent to take McCaw's minutes.

Wonder if we can trade him for Kawhi Leonard?

Fred's limitation on his finishes is a huge concern and a reason why I would keep him off ball. I have emphasized for a while how important it is to make sure all players on the floor are passers, shooters, ball handlers, and tough defensively. Flynn checks out on all of those as a guard.

I would think Fred is shipped for a 3rd star if we get Giannis. It seems pretty likely Beal is going to be a trade chip next deadline. The Wizards looked really bad.

Rookies generally make a jump on defense from first to second season. Flynn may be an anomaly considering he WON DPOTY as a GUARD.

I would guess NN has Thomas and Davis compete for minutes as Flynn is the better floor general. Flynn would really benefit from playing next to Lowry.

If Flynn is as capable as FVV then I would trade Fred as soon as he is eligble for a disgruntled star. I project this to be potentially Giannis, especially if the Bucks flop this season.

It was one performance against the lolcats but his +35 tells me he may potentially even be up for rookie of the year considerations. We are going to have to consider either Flynn or FVV as their make up is too similar. We need a diverse offense and size / physicality can be an issue in the playoffs.

Beal nor Westbrook, nor Bertans suited up. Avdija was 3 for 3 from deep and 6 for 6 overall.

PG Westbrook - Neto
SG Beal - Brown
SF Avdija - Bertans - Bonga
PF Hachimura - Bertans - Wagner
C Bryant - Wagner - Lopez

They will be around .500 and could be buyers at the trade deadline.

But that foul against Charlotte with 2 seconds left in the shot clock, 20 feet from the basket. :nonono: Davis is an idiot, and it seems to permeate every aspect of his life. The emergence of the M&Ms (Matt and Malachi) makes it easier to contemplate trading Davis for value. And no-one was a bigger fan of TD last season than I.

He definitely looked like Dame lite. But yeah, I see that too. The way he moves is very similar...but he isn't nearly as explosive. Dame is an underrated athlete.

Yeah people need to pump the brakes, Lillard has very underrated athleticism/explosiveness.

I think Billups, Kevin Johnson and Bibby are better comparisons...maybe also Price and Stockton.

Somebody already mentioned it but he has the same build as George Hill, he reminds me of him with better playmaking ability. That's a great type of player to have for the next 10 years, the combination of shooting, playmaking and defense is so valuable.

I got up to adjust my set and then realized TV's don't have adjustments.
The good thing about BI is he can shoot over defenders.
