The people who expect every max-level player to be on the level of Kawhi/LBJ/KD are delusional/don't understand the way the salary cap works. It took us 25 years to get one of those guys, you should probably find a new team/hobby if that's what you're expecting out of the Raps. In the grand scheme of stars this team has had, I'd put Siakam right in the middle:

He's not prone to criticism, I'm not going to deny that he was terrible in the bubble and every time he shot the ball I cringed. I will give him the benefit of the doubt, though, that those extremely unusual circumstances played a part in his poor play. Last year was a huge adjustment for him and he still made 2nd team all-nba. He helped get us a championship and deserves the benefit of the doubt.

At the end of the day, the people who are pissed off about Pascal Siakam being a foundational part of this team are the type of people who will find something to be mad about no matter what. Just enjoy this young, homegrown star who's entering the prime of his career and is locked up for years to come.

Siakam is a king **** #2, how can you argue otherwise? He BATTLES defensively. Do people only watch and get entertained by offense? Watching Fred Kyle, OG and Pascal fighting on D will be the best part of raptor ball this year. Pay attention to it. Appreciate it. Teams filled with All NBA defenders aren't common.

Siakam needs to rediscover his mid-range touch, it eluded him after his injury. Without it, he's afraid to attack and that really limits our offense. It's a rhythm thing tho, who knows when that clicks.

I've been watching for decades. Having a team where everyone buys in on defence is special, and I'll keep enjoying it as long as I can. But yes, most people watch for offence, and base their rankings/expectations on offence -- which is one reason why the Raptors keep surprising.

I expect that Pascal will bounce back from a bad bubble performance. If we assume his fall of 2019 performance was a bit of fool's gold before the league figured him out, but also that his shooting percentages in the bubble were an aberration, we have a 23/7/3 player with great defence -- maybe not worth $30M/yr, but close to it. I also think he will improve because when it comes to room for growth, the # of years playing basketball (10 I think) is more important than chronological age (27). I expect he'll improve every year during this contract, and will make all-NBA at least a couple more times in his career. He is a great #2 option.

Revenge season.

Proud of my peeps who stuck by Siakam when times were rough. He finally looks to have turned the corner and got the monkey off his back. If he plays within himself he can definitely put up 20+/10rb and 4-5 apg with great defense, back to the Pascal we all fell in love with. I created this thread just to remind everyone that its not about being short sighted, yes he struggled but others and I had faith in him that he could turn it around and look at him now, looks like a completely different player.

I said he will be top 5 in MVP voting within these next three seasons.

Glad that Pascal and the coaching staff have countered the other teams’ adjustments and he’s thriving again.

He’s a special talent and was really close to having game winning shots on back to back nights this week.

I believe Pascal is back and is even going to be better than last season. Athletes like him care and I am happy he is getting these late game opportunities and feeling the pain of missing. A true Athlete will take these lessons and work on it in the gym and strengthen his mindset. If Pascal has proved anything that is he knows know to improve so I have no doubt that he will become that Elite Player that we all know he can. I invite all the hater to keep on hating because he sees it and I for one being an athlete love to prove people wrong. Its what drives us and keeps us going. LETS GO SPICY P!

I just can’t get over his passing this year. I never thought Pascal had any chance at being a point forward but so far this year it looks like that is a definite possibility.
