Anyone else like Moses Moody? Projected to go.at #7 with the Raps pick. Has a 7' 1" Wingspan and plays SG/SF. High floor game already has 3 and D abilities. Dude seems like the perfect player for our team, plus he's just turning 19 and has a ton of upside. I like that pick if we stay at 7.

With that 7'1 wingspan, reminds me of Josh Howard. Perhaps a younger version with more offensive potential?

Seems like these over age shooters never hit the potential they were supposed to. What's different between him and the crazy season Mcdermott had in Creighton?
Joe Harris and Duncan Robinson are recent successes
Jason Kapono even carved out a nice career
If our first rounder this year only turns out to a Harris/ Robinson level player it was a waste of a tank
Our pick is going to be top 10, none of these players were top 10 picks. i was just pointing out over age shooters have been doing well
edit: wow didn't realize Kispert was projected to go so high (7th on the Ringer). I don't watch NCAA, but i hope we don't take a one dimensional player in the top 10.

I haven't seen too much talk of Usman Garuba. The kid looks strong out there playing in Europe against grown men and is quite mobile for a big. I know he's listed at 6'8 but plays bigger than his size. He even has a decent handle. Also just 19.

Not sure he has more offensive potential, as he relies a lot of foul calls (flopping a bit?), and he may not get those as a Raptors.
Defense is so-so, couldn't stay in front of his man on the perimeter (Petty blow by him), which leads me to think he lacks quickness. Will have to see his lane agility test. Not high on him at the moment.

No a shot creator apparently...

Swing for the fences pick. He looks really strong physically but not sure he has learned how to play the game quite yet. He does really well coming up through the years in various tournaments because of physique and speed. Wonder what happens to him in slow half court ball as an NBA rookie...? Might not be pretty at first but eventually he might be a beast with skills.

A pick for the Garuba project.

I'm quite leery about him. I watched every Ark game in the tourney and he did not stand out. I was stunned to find out he's a protected lottery pick. He looked very limited offensively; either spot ups or one dribble long 2s, including some really ugly ones where he wasn't able to gain much separation. His measurables are nice, his stroke looks decent, and he can defend - so I think he has a place in the league, but due to the lack of creation ability - for himself and others - I would lean towards him being more of a role guy who's dependent on his teammates. I don't want to condemn him based on a few games tho, so I need to watch more tape.

The few clips I've watched he kept dropping the ball like a perimeter Biyombo. Not interested.

Players I would happy with Suggs, Mobley, Barnes, Mitchell. Barnes is a project though.

I would be ecstatic getting Todd with the higher 2nd pick. Then pick up a big with the lower one.

Barnes is a dumpster fire offensively, he has literally no offensive weapons in the half court. If he can improve his 3pt shot and become an all world defender, he could be something akin to Draymond.

Wow, he hurt it prior to jumping.
So Cunningham over Jalen Green?

Re: Draft Thread Part 2
While i understand the importance of defense, i feel like the raptors have enough solid to good defenders, we need some offensive creation. I would prioritize a scorer or shot creator in this draft.

In top 10, I hope we aim for both. I suppose the shot creator may not be dominating, but I still prefer a solid defender.
I feel we are better taking someone raw, as I think we have more success with OG and Siakam than someone who is more proven.
