He was absolutely playing out of his mind earlier in the year. He has great foot work and moves. I find his game fun to watch for that reason. Not really fair to only judge him based on the end of the year when his team is struggling so badly. I agree he's overrated. But hardly the most.
Even when Sabonis was playing at a high level and the Pacers were winning near the start of the season, Indiana was significantly better with Sabonis on the bench. As already mentioned, his on/off numbers are very poor and he has the 2nd worst NetRTG (-2.7) on the team behind LeVert.

Still a very good player, but doesn't bring as much value as his numbers would lead you to believe.

What an absolute embarrassment. Assistant coach should know better not to beef with players during the game, keep this in the locker room. A real bad look for the entire organization smh

Bad "look" for Greg Foster. I mean a big former player is all over their Euro big during a game and other players come to his defence. Then Foster ends back on the bench with his mask barely fitting him or staying on. Why can the NHL coaches wear n95 masks and double mask and the nba acts like their branded Disney swag outter masks only fit half their people? The NBA could be a more professional outfit but their culture under Silver has not fared well during Covid. I saw an assistant coach in the AHL get fired for what Foster did. That's bullying an employee. Foster should be gone.

The confrontation involved Greg Foster, one of the assistants. Full exchange below:

Was watching the Indy feed and they cut away from the exchange earlier and stopped talking about it.

That would be former Raptor, Greg Foster...for those too young to have been around for the dark days.

Lol at Sabonis is a great player. He gets roasted defensively and his stats are so inflated that he has no impact on the game.
He has to be the worst all-star of the last 2 years.

That's also the critique of Nikola Vucevic.

I didn’t see anything more than this clip so I have no idea if Foster was crossing any lines prior to this exchange. That said, tell your boss to sit the **** down in your next meeting and see how that goes. Not sure your “I’m a victim of boss bullying” will hold up in the aftermath.

Funniest part was the commentators couldn’t tell the difference between 2 bald white dudes even though they are about 8 inches and 70 pounds apart and were literally standing next to each other at one point. Nate catching all the blame early. Kind of racist of them thinking all old bald white dudes look the same.

Maybe the rookie big shouldn’t be telling the assistant coach to sit the **** down? Foster reacted like anyone who has a backbone would.

Not excusing the careless mask use.

Agreed. However, I think this is over months of frustration that the players have over the coaching staff's methods or various philosophies that culminated and boiled over last night during the game. It takes a lot of anger and bitterness for a 3rd stringer to tell an assistant coach to sit down on live TV.

Pacers org in shambles. They should look at us as a beacon of how to be a proper disappointing team and tank gracefully.

Every paragraph is worse than the last. It is sad to see Nurse's coaching tree start in this manner. It is like a soap opera.

Wow, if the stories in this article are true, no sympathy for the guy. Sounds like he has anger management issues.

Especially telling that TJ Warren requested a trade right after he was hired, after having him as an assistant coach in Phoenix. I'm surprised none of this came out while he was a Raptors assistant - except our media only writes puff pieces, so I shouldn't be surprised.
