Re: PG: Raps outpace Indy
As I said in the game thread before tip-off, our offence has been coming around since the abysmal first game. OG and FVV have both stepped up big the last three games (23/5/3 on 63 TS% and 20/7/9 on 60 TS% respectively with a combined 13 steals) and the threes have been falling again. Obviously we aren't going to be putting up 115 PPG on above average percentages every night, but we're not that team that scored 45 points (or whatever it was) in the first 30 minutes against the Wizards in the opener.

Dragic the real MVP, told Nick he didn't like what he was seeing out there, and that he better play Dalano instead. That's the veteran leadership we all expected. Can't get torched on defense from the pine, showing his BBIQ.

Re: PG: Raps outpace Indy
Barnes and Banton are such amazing draft selections. Banton has serious skill, far above his draft selection.

Re: PG: Raps outpace Indy
Banton is a blur in transition. When he gets a head of steam going, he's hard to stop off the dribble. His stroke looks better as well. He's also been a distrupter defensively. He's establishing himself as the clear backup guard. The Freddie/Banton combo has looked good in the minutes they've played together.
Barnes is basically getting his 18 points a game from floaters, hooks, pullups, putbacks. He's very composed around the basket. Imagine what he will be able to do when his jump shot gets better. Another solid all around game.
VV has been awesome the last two games. Nice to see the shot coming around. He's doing everything right now - scoring, passing, rebounding, defending. The leader.
OG is settling in with the higher usage role. The offense has looked good for the 3rd game in a row.
Overall, the Raps played hard, the defense was insane and it was a fun game to watch

Nick must be reading these forums because he let Banton play more and handle the ball most of the time. Nice to see Fred also in control more. And Barnes was vibin'. When this team has consistent defensive effort, they will always have a chance.

barnes seemed to have the ball in his hands going up the court ALOT more in the 2nd half, i was really happy to see that.

It'll be nice to see the 905 get started, I want to see the end of the bench play and get minutes. It's always a bit of a buzzkill at the start of the season with the tight minutes.

Great win. I dont want to be critical of Trent given his defensive effort he was pretty piss on the other end. Couldnt hit water if he fell out of a boat

When you think about how much Banton has improved from his first summer league game where he was turning the ball over left right and centre to now is truly unreal. Who would have thought. He can't shoot and he's already to a backup point guard in this league because he does everything else well. What a steal by Masai. And our development team is truly top notch

idk if this is true but thats crazy that it takes dragic telling nurse what to do...
i feel like lowry shouldve done this last year and demoted himself to the bench... too much pride though...
mdenny wrote:In anycase....Masai is probably gonna make Fred the first active player/head coach in franchise history now that Nurse is out of the way. That's been the plan all along.
