The william Lou podcast is pretty corny. I feel like it encapsulates NBA twitter.

I could see that. I also think former Raptor Ben McLemore could show up as we sink 3 guys to stop Nurk in the post and he gets 10 open looks from 3.

Wow, didn't even realize he was on the Blazers this year.

It's too bad that he isn't more level-headed in his approach. Joining Rogers has brought out almost a Bobcat type persona. Maybe it is necessary to make bold statements as it brings in the casual fans who like reporters calling out everyone.
Some of Will's populist opinions: Bench Boucher - he should not be playing; The Raptors are not respecting their opponents.
He kind of ignores the fact that guys are coming in and out of the line-up and in other cases coming off injuries. Not everything is like 2K where you can swap in players and win because they have 85 ratings.

He barely plays, but if Lill is out on a b2b I can see him get some run.

I haven’t heard much from him but I thought his last podcast calling out the team/Nurse after the Pistons loss was spot on. Basically said everything I was thinking.

I am really enjoying Will and Alex. They know the game and they are pretty entertaining as well.
But even if I hated them though, which I don’t, after the barren wasteland of Raptors talk we’ve had to endure, it is kind of hard to complain.

When will we just change the name of 25 of the 30 teams to the Washington Generals?
Please advise….

Yea, I was pretty late to the whole podcast thing, but I've enjoyed listening to their show.

The latest Samson Folk podcast is excellent. They really dive into some of the creative schemes the Raptors are running defensively.
Nick is really pushing the envelope (it's not always working but you can see the logic). Glad we have an organization that is willing to stray from groupthink.

I think it is too hash on Boucher who is trying a new position, and Nurse is really asking too much on everyone to change their game.
Raptors Republic also mentioned that Watanabe could be in the same situation, where we are happy that he is a 3&D guy, but this year, we may need ball handling and creating off the dribble, so not sure if he meets that expectation.
I think our coaching staffs are trying to play a style that they want, but it is a tough ask for players to adept.

Raps don't really have guys that are good at running the PNR or warping defenses (maybe Pascal can change that a bit) so Nick has to find other creative ways to get some baskets.. Boucher for example is definitely struggling because Kyle isn't here to create those same opportunities (and no one else is able to on this roster).Indeed wrote:Dalek wrote:johanliebert wrote:The william Lou podcast is pretty corny. I feel like they should still try it though. I refuse to believe FVV/Pascal or FVV/Scottie can't make it work.

Wouldn't mind trying it more with Siakam back, but SIakam also needs to improve as a roller.
I guess the spacing is neither there, but none of the other playstyle would get a higher PPP, maybe except for transition and cut.
Missing out on Lowry for sure. I guess in exchange, we are giving the touches to OG, Barnes and Trent. Siakam isn't even getting that much touches as well. Perhaps the question is, what type of playstyle works better for our existing players, and I will accept taking long jumpers due to lack of spacing with the focus of getting offensive rebound.

FVV is very elite in the mid range nowdays, Scottie and Pascal on paper should be great roll men, they both have a soft touch around the rim and are really good in making quick reads in the middle of the floor. I just don't see any reason why they shouldn't make it a staple in their offence.

Yeah, that's true. I'm glad I'm not a coach because trying to have an offensive scheme that works with no spacing sounds like a nightmare in 2021 lol.
God speed to Nurse and his team.

I don’t have the metrics but I heard it on Samson Folk’s podcast that Siakam Fred pick and rolls are the best by the numbers on our team but we don’t run them a lot for some reason.

Or at least closing time without a C, we probably get better spacing with it.
Raptors Republic also mentioned this to have Siakam work on the roll man, he can improve better with his positioning, so that the pass is easier for the handler.
