I just don’t think it’ll be easy to acquire with our “assets”

May not be (although I'd think Bamba, Jalen Smith would actually be EASIER to acquire than both Poeltl & Williams) but the solution isn't to trade for a C who will just create a different problem.

if you don't get someone like that, fine but don't waste a 1st rounder on Poeltl.

If it doesn't cost more than a 2nd (considering what they just traded NP/RC for it shouldn't) then sure.

I think this year, we keep our 1st and do what we can to shore up the bench using Dragic and his contract and possibly 2nd rd picks.

Agree, with the emergence of Barnes looking comfortable playing at the 5 now, I don’t see Masai shaking up the starting 5. Will probably add a reliable bench scorer/guard with the Dragic contract. I don’t see the Raps necessarily adding a big either.

If they trust Scottie and at times Siakam at C...then we still have 3 bench guys who can play C(Boucher, Ach, Birch). So yeah, it makes no sense to add another C.

Get a guard who can handle the ball and shoot.

Another guy to potentially look for....TJ Warren. He's on pace to come back from his surgery within the next few weeks.

He's an extremely good player when healthy. Sure fire scorer. Solid defender. Would give us another ball handler.

Only worry is his injury concerns and how healthy he looks when he comes back

For

Poelt and McDermott (who is shooting 42% from 3)

I would do it.

To go 4 on 5 offensively in the Playoffs while teams willingly send Yak to the FT line?! No f'ing thanks!

You can teach a guy how to shoot.

Masai, Bobby and Nick seem to think they can get non-shooters to shoot...wouldn't have drafted a bunch of non shooters in this last draft if they don't believe they can teach it.

Of players likely available, that’s Mo Bamba.

3P% = 35% on 3.7 3PA
FT% = 77%

He’s averaging 8 rebounds and 2 blocks per game.

He has a $10M qualifying offer which isn’t crazy if he shows he can be a good fit this year.

You wouldn't do Dragic + 1st for Lavert?

He's lazy and injury prone. He lacks competitiveness. Precious with the proper development can be better

*Shrug*

Birch looked great when he was healthy. He was doing the little things that helps teams win. Too much slander against him lately.

Poeltl won’t stretch the floor but he has good hands and touch around the rim and will make all those shots Precious misses.

Indiana: Dragic, Flynn, Good 2nd from team X, meh 2nd from us
Toronto: Warren, someone useless like Mo Harkless or 2 Laker minimum vets
Team X: Justin Holliday

Indy gets a young, cheap potential backup PG and saves money next year and gets a 2nd. Team X gets a 3 and D guy. We get TJ Warren and next year it's 2 of him, Boucher and the non-Tax MLE and we sneak under the luxury tax as long as Warren or Boucher don't go over 15M, which we aren't giving them anyways.

But we're probably not trading even a 2nd for a 28 year old who hasn't played in a year.
Where's the D?
