My biggest worry is Siakam faking some injury so he doesn’t get traded or loses value in the market. Masai should be resting him every game.

Siakim is a pro. He wouldn’t do that as frustrated as he must feel.

Thats what we thought about Vince until he started nailing it in not dunking, giving opposing teams our plays in the middle of the court. Obviously i don’t think it gets to that with Pascal, but faking an injury where no one can confirm it won’t put any blame on him. Back spasms can be easily faked. If Masai has pissed Pascal and his agent off, i can definitely see him pulling something like this.

The real concern with Pascal playing is a real injury.

Things in our favor:

Siakam looks like the best guy available
Traded OG means one less guy on mkt
Trading OG showed mkt the return he expects
Trading OG showed mkt the Raps WERE serious about trading, unlike other years
GSW getting ultimatum from Curry
Dallas feeling they are 1 big move away from winning it all

Masai has history of taking the chance on a UFA that was not likely to re-sign but did it and won a championship. He can try and convince teams that think Siakam is that missing piece since they already have their star in place. "If you think you can win, have the guts to go after it".

Indy does make sense...

They say no to Ben....then Walker is a must(assuming we believe in his future)
Hield due to cap
Nesmith to replace OG as 3&D is cheap and signed a few years

If we got that, it at least fits, gives us 2 young guys(1 very young) and we maybe could flip Hield for a 1st+filler...or try and get a young SG for the bench to replace GTJ...who we could also move for a few 2nds.

Remember when we played Lowry the day of the deadline in Tampa on a tanking team. Masai isn’t scared (only we are)
When will we just change the name of 25 of the 30 teams to the Washington Generals?

Please advise….

It looks like January 14th is the date where all the remaining trade restrictions are removed
then CHI doubles down on their roster by sending Pat Williams|Ball|Ayo(Jan14)|pick for P-Sizzle

Regarding Jan 14 Masai might look at it differently. Might want to get a deal done before other teams are able to get more guys on the market and move them, taking away other teams assets we might want now.

Masai doesn’t rush. And he’s had 7+ months to trade Pascal. He’s waiting for the best deal possible.

Siakam would've already been traded if he didn't tell teams he wasn't going to re-sign.....you can hate on Masai all you want but Siakam has played a big role in dragging this out.

Masai doesn't rush but Masai also doesn't understand the meaning of deadlines either as evident with Lowry/Fred and now potentially Siakam lol. Let's see how this goes.

Spot on. Plus Masai has shown that he isn't afraid not to trade a player. Bring me a good offer or don't bother.

Siakam has done nothing but be transparent about wanting to exercise his option to be able to sign wherever he chooses. He shouldn't be forced to sign an extension with whatever team the raptors trade him to because it benefits us..

He has family there, including his mom. Houston has been brought up many times over the last few weeks, including by myself at least twice. It's honestly one of the best locations (in his eyes) and probably his #1 choice, even though he lives in Orlando in the off-season.

Siakam ain't in the wrong tbh, he doesn't want to make any promises right now and has every right to test FA.

lol you are probably on that Indy Walker-train with no proof he can actually NBA while I know exactly what I would be getting in Pat 'at worst' which would still fit us perfectly(I do mean perfectly) next to his boy Scottie.

But Masai has played the biggest role...he could've moved him last deadline when it made THE most sense but he didn't and now the franchise is playing a game of chicken with the market.

In the ends I think we'll come out of this with something ok (assuming the FO pulls the trigger at least a week or so ahead of the deadline & doesn't give Pascal & Co the opportunity to leak some type of nuke) BUT it could've been a lot better when teams wouldn't have felt like they're taking such a huge risk & had WAY more time to try & convince him to stay (and those teams also would've had even better records where it could've been an easier sell). Masai is by far the most to blame, hopefully he makes the most of a bad situation.

Hield doesn't work cap wise as a salary filler for a Walker+Nesmith base. Pacers have roughly 6.4M in cap space and Hield+Walker+Nesmith for Siakam is 6.9M more incoming salary than outgoing salary for the Pacers (Nesmith poison pill doesn't affect Pacers outgoing salary in a trade). If Bruce Brown is the salary filler instead it works though.
