I'm assuming that we are going to get a 1st that is better with a Brown or Schroeder trade?

Dunno why Agbaji has been a disappointment so far. 6'5" with a 6'10" wingspan, good shooter in college.

People want to trade all our players for picks and just have Barnes and Quickley play 2 v 5 for the rest of the season

I had the sense that Masai really doesn't like the 2024 draft class. He basically decided to use the 29th pick on Ochai Agbaji, which may or may not have been a good idea. Swapping in Olynyk for guys we don't play is a nice bonus, as Olynyk is a great fit for us. I think we would have been interested in him as a UFA in the summer, and this move gives us a head start in trying to sign him.

Management is also probably hoping to send our lottery pick to San Antonio this year, even if it's the 7th pick. They probably don't like the 2024 draft class at all and just want to get the obligation out of the way.

We traded the 28th? 29th? pick in an extremely weak draft. Mock drafts are all over the place - some of the guys slated to go late first/early second round can easily go undrafted.

Thats a BS take. You don't get to use the excuse of weak draft, just like i don't get to use the excuse that we "could" get a special player there even though I can guarantee there will be second round picks that have a great careers.

We are currently tied for the 6th pick which means we will likely lose it. Olynyk makes us better because we don't have size. Agbaji is a shot it the dark.

The odds say this is a bad trade. Also, its like Masai learned nothing from trading a top 6 protected pick for an expiring Poeltl.

Poeltl/Olynyk is basically Gasol/Ibaka...right?

2024 raptors FRP ***** (top 6 protected)
2024 indiana FRP (currently 18)
2024 detroit 2nd (currently 31)

I don't hate it. And at least it was the worst FRP we had.

Plus, hopefully we get a FRP back in a Bruce trade.
