Waiting months to see your team hoop just for them all to get injured right away is a bummer. Sounds like they’ll be back soon at least

With Mitchell and Shead guarding him tonight...I hope to see Maxey have an...off night.

0-2 would be a phenomenal start, we need to put pressure on the wizards

Talk about starting the year behind the eightball with all these injuries. We already have the toughest schedule to start the year and now this! Can't see us containing Maxey even with two defensive minded guards. Hopefully we can surprise and win this one for Vulture!

Who exactly are we signing with this capspace?

Cap space is a pathway for improvement by adding multiple good players or that one big guy or make smart trades. And I don't want to hear "if he want to" since this front office keeps kicking the can down the road on multiple fronts which is why we're currently one of the jokes of the league.

This team doesn't even have a pathora of draft picks like a rebuilding should like the Jazz, Thunder, etc. I'm just trying to find what's the pathway for this franchise to become relevant again and it might be 2026 when we MIGHT get a playoff spot and longer than that for us to expect to win a playoff series.

By then, I can fully see Barnes getting sick of the losing and want out. Just my 2 cents lol

Again - who are these multiple good players we are adding? Typically, if you want to get a guy in FA you gotta overpay - so who are we overpaying?

And "kicking the can down the road" is the EXACT same complaint everyone had about this team from 2013 to 2018. Masai was constantly ridiculed for "evaluating". Just be honest and say you enjoy watching trades and moves be made. Just because they are fun does not mean they are necessarily in the teams best interest.

Also - you are out of your mind if you think we are "one of the jokes of the league". This SCREAMS you don't want or pay attention to the NBA outside of Toronto. That is a WILD thing to say.

You bring up UTAH and OKC like they were not gift wrapped some of the most lopsided deals of the last decade  Most rebuilding teams do not have "a pathora of draft picks". Most rebuilding teams also do not have a starting centerpiece like Scottie.

I see based on your join date you just hate no clue how a rebuild looks or works. That is fine.

Lol I've been on this board and been following the raptors since their inception. I'm pretty confident my basketball knowledge runs circles around you but don't really care to get into that.

There are only a handful of teams that don't have a "scottie" on their squad and my standards are a lot higher than yours it seems. Being in a better position than the Nets/Wizards and a few other teams isn't exactly something to grab about. There's a vast difference between kicking the can down the road for a team competing for the 1st seed than a team whose best case scenario is the play-in.

Yes, Masai was also criticized around 2018 for needing to change things up and guess what it led to, the greatest moment this franchise has ever had. Masai has been a benefactor of those same "lopsided" deals when he was considered one of the best execs in the league.

These days, people focus more on Masai the person (who seems like an A+ individual) rather than Masai the exec who has been subpar since 2020. I mainly care about this franchise and it's wins/losses.

What i meant by being locked in means we won't have significant amount of cap space to upgrade this talent deprived team. Barnes/IQ/RJ is this teams "core" and our only real path to success means they stink up the joint this season leading to a super high draft pick.

Were top 10 in the NBA in capspace, and can easily create $40M of space if we want to.

What multiple good players are being added in Free Agency? I would love to see some examples of recent players that changed teams via Free Agency that we would want and could get.

Who do you think in the 2025 Free Agency Class is someone that would make a difference and realistically sign here? Keep in mind, our best NBA FA signing ever is probably Bismack Biyombo.

Agreed. We should have a tanking game thread too for people like him. Hearing it all of last year was one thing but to hear it game 2 is too much. I can't chear losses. Also Silver won't let us get Flagg. It's not happening.

Is it me or do our players take a long time to come back from injuries in general? It's always longer than expected. I can't recall a player coming back earlier than expected. Is our team doctor overly cautious?
