By beeing aggressive and moving around. Didnt settle for 3s. Essentially he played like we want him to play.

I mean, this is part of the frustration. The guy can bully ball almost anyone. Even as a rookie he could move centers off their spot. He just doesn’t use it enough.

He's either not capable or unwilling to play that way for an entire game

He scored 17 points in 15 mins with uber high efficiency... nobody plays like that all season.

Its not about the points, its about the how. He doesnt settle for 3s, he plays like he actually cares, doesnt complain or pout, is aggressive. The stats are just a result of it.

He was told to take a bunch of threes the past two seasons and they had been actively tanking.

Or it's preseason?

People putting too much stock in pre season and tanking seasons ...

He’s out of rhythm, the guys know it, they’re force feeding him for him to shake off the rust with his touch.

Barnes gets praise, and you still have the need to make excuses. Thats emberassing.

Barnes isn’t even shooting it like he thinks it’s going in haha. If you ain’t gonna shoot it confidently then don’t shoot it!

Counterargument:

There is a difference between shooting more 3s and settling for 3s.

Shooting open 3s -> good shots. He just misses to much.

Settling for 3s -> beeing afraid to attack, beeing timid, not beeing patient for a better shot. All things he did and are not good.

So yes, its is embarassing for your scottie cult to reflexivly have the need to defend every little thing - even when he gets praised.
