I’m glad someone else said it first

DW, he was always going to go to the franchise who had Tim Duncan and Robinson

Same reason why Flagg went to Dallas after losing Luka.

He would've never been a Raptor

Hope you cleaned up betting on those extremely obvious outcomes that are in no way narratives created with the benefit of hindsight.

Just don’t tell the billionaire owners and front offices who allowed their teams to tank for no reason! They’d be rather ticked off!

Wemby is going to be the face of the league and now they actually have talent around him in Haper/Castle to help him get wins as a team....While Fox is still out they are 3-0....They will be really good even in the tough West because of how good Wemby is.

That decision to go for it with Poeltl instead of tanking for Wemby continues to age well.

Honestly its super unlikely we get Wemby in 2023.... with that being said, they could have almost certainly found themselves getting Amen Thompson or Brandon Miller. Such a boneheaded move.

Do you really think either of those guys is changing the fortunes of this franchise?

The things he does I have never seen before. The only thing that can stop him is health issues.

Its the principle it sets a full path to a brand new start rather than holding onto a competitive team with players that aren't really good enough to put you over the hump....And for us the draft was and is the best way for us to grow since a Giannis like trade for us is not happening anytime soon.

There was a greater chance we end up picking someone in the 6-10 range than the 1-5 range. No offence, but I don't think a consolation prize of Anthony Black, Jarace Walker, Bilal, Hendricks, or Cason Wallace is all that interesting to me.

Also got to think at that time the value Siakam/OG/FVV could of had if we actually tried to deal them instead of waiting their walk years to trade them/Let walk in free agency...We could of got alot more for Siakam thats for sure...
IDK how much more Siakam you think we were gonna get above and beyond what we ended up with. Jakobe/Ochai/Ingram/Shead (I think there is another pick or two I am forgetting) is probaby as good as it ever was going to get.

So many people at that time on the Raptors board were saying there is no point going for Wemby and it was a good move by Masai to get Jakob because Wemby will be either a Bust or Injured through his career.....Which imo won't be the case at all and he will prolly go down as an all timer when its all said and done...
Lol I really don't think anyone said there is no point going for Wemby cause he WILL be a bust. It was a way more nuanced discussion that said there is at best a 14% chance of getting a the #1 pick, and the x% of Wemby actually hitting his ceiling.

I know i was one of the Wemby supporters and advid "Lets tank" for Wemby guys on the board and now you are seeing what he can do while the Spurs tanked and moved on from the DeRozan Play in team they now hit on a few picks with Wemby/Castle/Harper you can say luck was on their side but you have to try to get lucky and they did and succeeded.
Yeah, SA got more lucky than anyone else I can think of in recent memory, maybe dating back to BOS with the BKN picks.

But it is a BIT to early to call Castle + Harper hits. Lets give them a bit of time before we jump the gun.

Don't really listen to your basketball knowledge because you once told me Gradey Dick is better than Austin Reaves at basketball thats how i know you are just a homer and delusional as a fan and you don't really know much outside of Raptors...

Harper and Castle are very much Hits and Raptors obviously should of played the rebuild game much sooner because we have been having bad seasons trying to compete for years now in the "Barnes" Era....Obviously the guys we have are not that good also don't mesh together on the court....We need to start a new not keep trying to win with a roster that simply can't...

No, I never said that.
What an absolute failure and disaster this franchise is, ran by one of the most incompetent front offices in the league.

You may not have said it straight up but you basically did when i was saying Reaves was better than Dick and could score 20+ PPG easily in a "Dick" stats are inflated thread"...You were basically saying Reaves could not do it because he plays with LBJ and Davis....When hes playing with trash players atm with the Lakers and leading them to wins and getting you 30+ PPG without any of them

You always are a Raptors homer and you disrespect any player who is not a Raptor....But the players we have on our team are not as good as you think....We have some talent but not a team that is going to win anything of importance and you have been in denial about that for a few years now...
