Instead of trading for AD, if we can’t get another star, we should look to the Mavs to fill roster weaknesses via backup C, PG, and a playoff tested shooter.

The trade:
RJ Barrett, Ochai Agbaji, TOR ‘27 1st (top 18 prot)
for
Daniel Gafford, Klay Thompson, DAngelo Russell

Minor notes: Toronto also ducks the tax, and Dallas unites 2 Duke guys.

Toronto:

Quickley / Russell
Klay / Jakobe
Ingram / Dick
Scottie / CMB
Poeltl / Gafford

^ that is a legit 10 deep roster, with a mix of size,
shooting, vets and youth.

PS: Klay is the perfect guy to teach Gradey.

You have Gafford as having more value than RJ??

In my opinion Klay and Deangelo are negative assets

we're trading a starter, a low-end bench player and a 1st

for

a bench player, a cancer and another cancer

I would want something like RJ for Gafford, Christie, Nembhard and the LAL 1st. I'd waive Temple.

Poeltl / Gafford
Barnes / Mamu / CMB
Ingram / Walter / Agbaji
IQ / Christie / Dick
Shead / Nembhard

Raise the value of IQ and Ingram. Develop the prospects and then make that big move a couple years from now.

Why don't we go all-in for Kyrie and AD? We would have three massive expirings at the end of next season and get out of the last few years of Poeltl's/IQs contract.

TOR: AD/Kyrie
DAL: IQ, RJ, Quick, Gradey, 2026 FRP, 2027 Swap, 2028 FRP

Would that be enough in draft compensation?

Kyrie/Shead
BI/Jakobe
CMB/Battle
Scottie/Mamu
AD/Mamu

Shead + abaji for Berringer + filler (ingles)
berringer was 15th pick this year, bouncy Center.

or a trade for dilliangham based purely on pedigree of being 8th pick last year
shead + abaji for dillingham + future pick swap

i am partially sold on alijah martin being able to step up and replicate sheads development.

Orlando is still looking to add perimeter shooting and scoring. Theoretically, that could make any of Walter/Agbaji/Dick/Battle attractive to them.

Ochai + our 2026 SRP for Goga

Barnes-CMB-Mogbo
Ingram-Battle
Poeltl-Goga
RJ-Dick/Walter

Shead is #2 in AST/100 possessions. I don't even think Alijah is a true PG

This trade pulls together a couple of news/needs/rumors.

It’s primarily a big swap between SAC-TOR, with GSW-SAC added in to get Kuminga to the Kings, and get the Warriors a starting C (Poeltl).

It assumes that Sabonis is back healthy, which is why the Raps pull the trigger. The Kings are shipping out their vets and embracing a youth movement.

The trade:

SAC IN: RJ Barrett, J Kuminga, I Quickley, J Mogbo, O Agbaji, TOR ‘26 1st (unprotected), TOR ‘28 1st (top 12 prot)
SAC OUT: D Sabonis, D Derozan, M Monk, R Westbrook, P Achiuwa

TOR IN: D Sabonis, D Derozan, M Monk, R Westbrook, P Achiuwa
TOR OUT: J Poeltl, RJ Barrett, I Quickley, J Mogbo, O Agbaji, ‘26 1st (unprotected), ‘28 1st (top 12 prot)

GSW IN: J Poeltl
GSW OUT: J Kuminga

The Kings tank and retool around youth.
The Warriors contend. Poeltl isn’t a 3 pt shooter, but he’s one of the leagues best rebounders, finishers, and screen setters.
The Raps contend. Sabonis addresses their rebounding, they’ve been linked to Monk, and Demar gets a homecoming.

TOR:

Monk / Westbrook / Shead
Demar / Jakobe
Ingram / Dick
Barnes / CMB
Sabonis / Mamu / Achiuwa

The starting defense takes a hit, but overall talent level goes up. I see CMB+Scottie playing together during key defensive plays with Ingram at the 2, like he’s done before.
170,000+ killed and injured in Gaza.

Never forget the live-streamed Palestinian genocide.

Yes, Ochai, Battle and a 2026 SRP for Goga seems reasonable.

Magic need to save money next year, so Ochai's expiring will help, along with Battle's minimum deal.

Davis, Goga, Gafford, Giannis, Sabonis.

At least Mgt appears to see that they NEED another big...or an upgrade.

Raps get: Gafford, Monk, Devin Carter, out of tax by 100k
Raps trade: IQ, Ochai, 2nd rounder

Mavs get: Ochai, Portis, Saric, Spurs 2027 1st via Sac, 5.6 million in savings
Mavs trade: Gafford, Klay

Bucks trade: Portis, Kuzma
Bucks get: Demar, Klay, 5.6 million in extra salary

Kings trade: Demar, Monk, Carter, Saric, Spurs 2027 1st
Kings get: IQ, Kuzma, Raps 2nd rounder,1 million in salary.
When will we just change the name of 25 of the 30 teams to the Washington Generals?

Please advise….

Wish we could get a guard too and a bigger wing that can grab boards and defend and decent from 3. Can't get it all at once though or can we? I feel like our guards and wings are all lightweight and that's one of the reasons why we struggle with physicality and rebounding aside from Scottie. An injured Yak can only do so much.
