All they want is to protect that BBQ.. so when April comes around.. and the Raps go deep into the playoffs.. you can use your BBQ and have your wife host some awesome parties for the guys (while your at the game)

Yup... I got the crappy bbq cover. It doesn't even fit my bbq (as I have a large bbq.) I can't understand who thought this was a good idea. If you go to Canadian Tire, there are 6 different sizes of bbq covers! That's like sending out a fitted-hat in size 7 to all season ticket holders! Ridiculous (and cheap... it's made of a smelly, cheap plastic. Not unlike those Glad Garbage bags that don't rip... you know, the ones with the inner-mesh?)

TERRIBLE idea, makes them look cheap.

And to those that say us season ticket holders get events all year... we USED to! But if you have upper bowl tickets, you're not invited anymore. We get nothing.

You can't blame a recession for a company who is the most profitable sports ownership group in North America! They make 28% profit... that's $0.28 on every dollar they spend. There isn't another company in Canada that makes that kind of dough.

BLAME THE TEACHERS! MLSE is cheap-cheap-cheap. Very dissapointed.

Sure it's looking a gift-horse in the mouth, but after the past 5 years of great gifts... this one is not only cheap, but it's not practical. It's just silly.

How much does it cost to fill your car compared to July '08?

How much do you pay to rent money?

Why has the government gone from surplus to a 50 billion + deficit?

The cover does indeed have the Raps logo and says "Season Seat Holder" in lettering about 1" tall and appears to have been done in whiteout. However, I agree with a previous poster commenting on the odour coming off of the 100% plastic content of the cover. I wonder if MLSE got a great deal on shredded lead-based toys from China and where just looking for a way to send them out to the loyal knuckleheads (referring to myself here).

A buddy of mine is a Leaf STH and they got a gym bag made of pretty much the same material. Then again, maybe it was just meant for smaller bbqs.

Here's hoping that the STH membercard that another previous poster mentioned (totally forgot about that email) will be something of interest.

Well you wouldn't want to leave your bbq uncovered in the winter now would you?

Sarcastic right? You watch to much American TV. What Canadians are in is barely a recession and it will be over in a couple months. Our Banking system is also stable and literally the best in the world (only one in the western world that did not collapse or have major problems). The recession we are in now, barely effects business's/companies like MLSE. Hence, the sold out Leaf exhibition games. Canadians get a lot of American TV, where the recession is bad, and think that what is happening to them means it's happening to us. What we are going through, is a happy day in the sun compared to them, because as much as our government may fail, it doesn't come close to sucking as bad as America's.

On to the actual topic.

Ya your SWAG sucks, but season ticket holders get tons of other events during the year held for them, and the prices did not go up this year. You are lucky you actually have season tickets in the renovated ACC, with a quality Raptor team for once. Maybe if we live up to expectations this year, next year they may toss something big at their loyal season ticket holders.

I'm not looking to derail this thread, but if you seriously believe that this recession missed Canada or that our banks are so infallible your wrong. You do realize that unemployment in Toronto is over 10% right? You also realize that the only reason those banks are healthy is because our government has bought over a 100 billion dollars worth of mortgage securities? Keep drinking the Kool Aid buddy.

Trax must be a conservative ... i don't think they can even spell recession lol

I'll keep it simple. You paid for season tickets and you got season tickets. Everything else is bonus. I'm sure there are teams out there that just give the season tickets and nothing else.

So, I got my tickets in the mail today and I guess the pretty much split the gifts. Upper bowl got BBQ Covers and Lower Bowl got Digital Photo Frames. The frame is pretty blah looking and the tickets are like half the size of last year. It packaging looked cheap too but i gotta agree with Dagger... I will take a 50 win season over any of this garbage they throw our way!

Anyone who doesn't want their Raps BBQ cover I'll buy it off of you. Of course I wouldn't pay more than $5 for it but at least it is something 8-)

You do remember this is the same team that, several years ago after finally making the playoffs, forced STH''s to purchase next years season tickets in order to secure the current seasons playoff tickets. You might remember the follow-up season not being so great.

Yeah, good people they are. They've never missed a chance to take advantage of their fans.

Are people seriously bitching about getting a FREE GIFT? Why can't you just be happy you got your tickets?
