Yes, there's a degree of that. 25 attempts in the paint, he's been fouled more than 4 times on drives. I don't think he deserves the same whistle as a star, but he deserves way more than Marcus Thornton, who's done nothing but **** his pants all series at both ends of the floor. He deserves way more than Shaun Livingston, who hasn't done a damned thing since game 1.

I'm just really starting to think you Guys don't know how the nba works. And I mean the actual game and not "the nba works for itself league loves brooklyn derr".

I'm not in this thread to troll. I was looking for a discussion, b/c the tornoto guys I follow on twitter were all up in arms I thought it could be discussed. But all I see is like people saying joe Johnson a pussy? Like yea he's physical as **** but he's a moose. He's not going anywhere when derozen slaps him. Another example is Lowry and his constant flopping that changed game 5 and absolutely deserves fines(if the league is sill doing that).

Now you guys seem to like the young buck Jonas v., And you think he's getting treated unfairly. But what I see is a guy who is much better than garnett right now but isn't just letting his play take care of itself. He's trying to flop and over dramaticize everything and he's not being rewarded for It. Garnett will win the head games, he should just focus on his game. He's better than Garnett.

So like derozen flailing on these jumpers , you're getting many great calls there. Joe Johnson gets hit like that but he's not going flying.

The only thing I did notice is that dwill can't hold Onto a ball sometimes an he embarrassingly tries to comvince the ref It was bc Contact. And maybe it has affected the dwill/Lowry matchup in our favor. Not really sure. I party say that just so you have something nice to Read b/c for whatever reason you guys hate that Lowry flops like crazy all the damn time . But he should be dominating dwill more. And for that, ill say maybe dwill is hanging in there bc of "star" respect .

Tl;dr : raptors flop an lets discuss it seriously bc this is a fun series. Enough with the guys on here who are considering quitting the nba and harming the refs b/c Amir Johnsons game just deserves more calls

Here is my favorite argument from the pill swallowers: "So what, the refs didn't lose us this game".

They intentionally distort the argument so it becomes a discussion of the outcome instead of the officials performance throughout the game, series, season, and indeed for the past 2-3 decades of NBA basketball.

You just know if Casey went out and did the same thing as Kidd did, the refs would just call everything against the Raps to spite them.

Jack Armstrong in a nutshell (and I like Jack Armstrong)

It's one thing for the coaching staff to be preaching hard play and adapting to the physicality, it make sense because nothing good is ever going to come out of complaining to the refs and getting T'd up. That would just play into the argument that this group is inexperienced and can't handle pressure and you couldn't make a counter-argument from there.

But as fans observing the game we have all the legitimacy to call it for what it is. We're not allowed to play D on the perimeter the way they let the Nets ride us on drives and cuts. Garnett is allowed to straight up push the screener into his teammate to manufacture illegal screens half the time. We're getting shoved on the inside and the Nets players and coaches complain on every dead ball with the refs taking into account their arguments while they refuse to listen to anything the Raptors want to point out and look the other way shameful as they should be.

The Raptors were down 7-1 in fouls to start the game. They ended up with a large difference at the end, but that 7-1 to start told the tale. The fouls evened up with the Raps down 26. I thought games 4 and 5 were the only ones called fair. The Raps won game 2 AGAINST the refs. It SUCKS that they determine the outcome. Brooklyn has played like TRASH this series and didn't deserve for it to go past 5 games. Games 1 and 3 were handed to them and although we would have probably lost anyway last night, we'll never know because they took JV and Lowry out of their games early.

Plot Twist: Lets cheer the Ref's

Post#806 » by Bargni » Sat May 3, 2014 6:28 pm

Every teams fans are against the ref's this playoffs, booing them for every questionable call.

Lets give them a break and cheer them on, so instead of chanting "refs you suck" lets chant "refs you rock" and hope they give us true home court advantage.

At least when Armstrong offers cop outs for the refs he actually accomplishes something in the process i.e. he gets paid/maintains some integrity in the game for the hundreds of thousands of people watching. But I'm at a loss for why anyone would come on realgm and mimic mainstream broadcasters, it's as if these bozos actually think someones going to offer them a cushy job just for being that clown who has nothing but good things to say about the league. Good luck with that fellas.

I always hate the refs come his time of year, this year more than others since we're actually still playing bball and it's May, but I think it's about taking it to the hole.

Go strong, go often and force the refs to make calls. Way too much outside, perimeter play last night. I know the Nets aren't giving up the paint but you gotta take it.

this team got hear by passing and playing aggressive team ball, that's all I'm asking for game 7.
Pascal to the future.

Non-calls and touch fouls have been an issue for both ends. The refs just need to remain consistent.

Exactly. Thats the problem I've noticed, the inconsistency. Let them play or call a tight game. The hand check foul by Val on Blatche in the third quarter (?) is when i lost it. How can you let the Nets play aggressive D(which by the book they were fouling every other play) and then call a silly foul like that?

Raps played like garbage but the refs were no help.

-first post, don't expect y'all to care. But i've been lurking for a minute so I care!

Agree with all of you. It's always been my biggest complaint about the NBA refs.

It's not as much about getting more fouls called in our favor, it's simply about consistency.

If you are going to manage the game by allowing it to be a physical one, fine. Make sure you are consistent with both teams. Don't allow one team to be extremely physical defensively on one end, then call silly little touch fouls when the opposing team tries to defend.

I'm really hoping our fans can get on the refs hard this next game.

Tough thing is, it's hard to get on them for the non-fouls.....we should still be getting on them every chance we get. Squeaky seems to get the grease.

If our coach/ management aren't going to stick up for this team, our fans definitely need to.

This is gonna sound weird, but I'd almost prefer bad refs over "good" ones. Bad refs don't know any better so you're just subject to random chance. "Good" refs know who's supposed to get the calls (eg, Danny Crawford in Game 5).
