Who's the big guy in long sleeve gray t-shirt, guarding Pascal sometimes, catching lobs from Nowell. Looks at least 6'9, 250, thick.

Only watched a few minutes. It's pretty bad basketball, one sequence at least 3 threes clanged off rim in a row, each after a tapout or offensive board. Ugly.

I know the guys also do training sessions on skills outside these pickup games. One thing I'm sure of - players who have a chance to play for their country in a FIBA tournament, and opt out in order to train, are missing the boat. FIBA games would be miles better practice than these type pickup games.

Early in this one you can hear Pascal call out, and oooone, when he's not in the play or on screen, probably back at midcourt. A play a teammate was in. LOL

Agreed based on physicality and intensity alone.

Depends on the player I think. If you were looking for game time, sure FIBA is great. If you are looking to build skill sets like shooting and ball handling, training and Rico Hines is far superior. There's a reason guys improve over the summer when they are mostly training and playing pickup and not during the year when they are playing games.

Day 2 of Rico runs. No Raptors here other than Pascal (played with Jabari Smith). Also looks like he also lost every game he played lol.
This run mostly consists of Clippers, Pistons and a mismatch of college/older guys.

For some reason it wont let me post the youtube video on here.

Apparently Embiid was at the recent Rico run which had a lot of Raptors players present, notably Scottie, Nowell, & Flynn. Not sure if Pascal was there, but my guess is that he probably was.

Miss Norm big time. I remember one year he won the 1on1 tournament in training camp and that gave him opportunity to shoot the last possession shot in the quarter during the season. He can create on iso better than anyone we had in years

Looks similar to me - just sweating a lot.

He's always been fairly shredded:

True, enough. I was just thinking he isn't even flexing and you can see the definition.

I just want the guy to stay healthy this year. No health set-backs. He rarely misses time, but last year he played through a few things and wasn't quite himself after knee and wrist issues.

Not great for developing individual skills though which is why a lot of guys turn down the opportunity. I’d imagine these guys are also working on specific skills in addition to these Rico Hines scrimmages.

For a team like the USA, they beat some teams by 30-40 points. I’d imagine there isn’t a ton of learning to take from games like that against a team of non-NBA players.
