Ace is a really interesting prospect for me. I place emphasis on advanced stats. He doesn't really meet anything I typically look for. But I'm still very high on him. I can see why GMs get wowed by physical profile and skills.

I would not be drafting him based on what he is today but what he projects to be. It's a homerun swing no doubt.

Gotta see how he was in HS with regards to passing. Would he be better with better teammates, rather than forcing things?

He's playing with the best guard in college basketball.

Just some thoughts on the guards in the draft

Jaks POA defence surprised me he consistently keeps his man in front and moves his feet very well. His turnovers are a bit worrying as he sometimes passes too late or too early and he’s def a below the rim player which will be a problem I think since he doesn’t have the measurements to make up for that.

Fears defence is pretty bad from the eye test however he is very young I watched a couple games and he was getting beat pretty easily on drives and for most of the game wasn’t even defending at the top felt like they were hiding him which is a concern for me . His offence does make up for that but def something to keep an eye on.

Boogie fland from watching has the best first step out off all these guards and could consistently beat his man to the rim however at the rim he his pretty bad settling for jumpers or floaters which he is good at but he did miss a lot of shots at the rim . Him and fears I think have the same potential on the offensive end however flands defence has been a lot better then fears so I have him and Jak higher then Fears right now .

I’m out on Vj because of his measurements and his overall lack of skill the defence is great but he’s not shutting down wings in the nba

Unfortunately, I can't find any footage of their matchup.

Yeah they had a couple big duels actually. In the ANGT tournament last season Traore dropped 45pts/9ast in what I'd call an upset on Jakucionis' Barcelona team. Jakucionis had 31pts/7ast in that game. And then during the U18 Eurobasket in the summer, Traore dropped 29pts/11ast (although 7 TOs) in a win over Lithuania. Jakucionis had 37pts/7ast. These were the games that really put Traore on the map I think. He really should have gone to college to raise/maintain his draft stock instead of staying in Europe and playing against much tougher competition.

Thanks for this write up brother.

I agree, Traore should've opted for college.
I'm still VERY high on him. I really wish we could get a second top 10 pick and draft him.
Heck, I'd draft him over guys like Tre Johnson and Fears, even though I'm fan of those guys as well.

Ace Bailey mid season highlights. He has had some lowlights but I am still very high on him. Imagine him playing with Scottie. Kid is still 18.

Not at all. The thing is he's been BAD this year, that's a fact. His advanced stats suck, that's a fact.

I don't care what any one of these Ace homers have to say. He'll have to improve
1. Advanced stats - BPM, OBPM, DBPM
2. The assist rate is pitiful.
3. The FT percentage is pitiful
4. Shot selection is laughable
5. Can't create space/settles for tough shots

If he gradually increases these things by draft time, I will readjust my projections. But too many fans are watching YouTube without digging deeper and it's showing.

But I agree, as new information is added/learned we should readjust our thinking.

I mean you basically just proved my point, he's been bad but there's plenty people still super high on him. There's a lot of strong opinions on both sides I guess a lil less on the non believers but still

The highlights are pretty high. Unfortunately he shot 5/15 in this game, but 4/9 from 3. Notice the pass at 3:40.

That's a nice highlight - makes me think that he simply might be an unwilling passer rather than someone without the vision.

So are most people putting Kasparas at 3? Who else is really in contention (other than Ace even with the red flags)

Originally I had Demin up there as well, but it’s clear he isn’t THAT guy. He’s really good, but just not a top 3 guy.

I’d put Tre Johnson in that category though. He might be a guy who can be a go-to scorer in the NBA.

From the Vecenie pod it seems teams aren’t all that into him. He seems solid though

If we miss on Ace and Kasparas I might swing for Fears tbh

Embarrassed that I only now learnt that Dylan Harper is Ron Harper's son and ex-Raps Ron Harper Jrs brother.

I’m either getting Jimmy Butler vibes from Edgecombe or Harrison Barnes. I’m not sure which, so I’m a little nervous to put him into my top 5
