Trade ID #5830478

Toronto out - Barbosa + Julian + Ed davis

Toronto in - Chris Kaman

I think they would also bite with Ed davis + TPE + miami pick. But I wanted to use the TPE to upgrade our wing somehow.

Why would you give up ED for Kaman?

By the time we are serious about competing he will be way past his prime. Davis is the type of player we need defensively.

Kaman would expedite things a little quickly w/o sacking the future. He doesn't even have to play this yr. Fill the hole at pg or sf with our high draft pick and then fill the remaining hole.

I understand what you mean, but with all due respect, we don't need quick.

We need to do this right

As much as I like Kaman, I'd only take him if it were part of a larger deal to get the Clipps draft pick this year, or the rights to Minnesota's unprotected pick in 2012. If that's the case, I'm totally on board.

what about this.

To Toronto: Travis Outlaw + HOU 2012 1st + LAL 2011 1st
To Newjersey: Linas Klezia + Joey Dorsey + TOR 2012 2nd

Outlaw is better defensively, hes the worse contract but hes a better defender on the wing. We add salary in 2011 but my hope would be to use those picks to guarantee us Irving.

+ trade Barbosa + Evans for expiring (SF?)

Calderon / Bayless
Derozan / Weems / Johnson
Outlaw / SF / Wright
Johnson / Davis / Dorsey
Bargnani / Ajincia / Alabi

then in 2011.

- Draft Irving
- Sign Wilson Chandler
- Trade Calderon for Center

Irving / Bayless
Derozan / Weems
Chandler / Outlaw
Bargnani / Davis
Center / Johnson / Alabi

If BC ever decides to open up to the idea of trading Bargnani and the Lakers decide to shake things up in LA...

Andrew Bynum
Shannon Brown
Devin Ebanks

for

Andrea Bargnani
Jose Calderon

We'd get some financial flexibility while taking a chance on Bynum hoping that he can get healthy. If he can show some consistency staying on the floor we would have a very good young line up in the future. First trade Barbosa for an expiring contract, then we would need to draft the best available PG/SF available (hopefully Irving) then fill the remaining hole through free agency. If we end up having Bayless as our starting PG after the draft, look to add a good veteran back up for him. Could be a realistic option...

C - Bynum / Johnson / Ajinca / Alabi
PF - Davis / Johnson / Dorsey
SF - (Jones x 2?), (Thad Young/Jeff Green?) / Kleiza / Ebanks
SG - DeRozan / Brown / Weems
PG - (Irving?), Bayless / (FA) / Brown

Thoughts?

Yeah i`m pretty much in love with this trade....however were completely ripping them off.

Why would they trade their defensive big, whose length has proven to be an xfactor, for bargnani a poor big man. gasol and bargnani is probably not the best defensive frontcourt.

I could see them trading for Calderon though, that would be sweet. I do pray that we rid of Bargs.

http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachi ... Id=64tagfo

Toronto Raptors Outgoing:
Jose Calderon

Lakers Outgoing:
Devin Ebanks
Ron Artest
D. Caracter

Lakers get their starting point guard, friend of Pau Gasol and rid themselves of the Ron Artest contract while getting back a contract of similar money, less duration.

Raptors get a defensive small forward, save a bit of cash in the long term and acquire a young talent in Devin Ebanks.

The only downside to this trade is that the Raptors don't do it from a talent perspective and they may consider the 3 years left on Ron's contract too long.

what about this.

To Toronto: Kelenna Azubuike + Eddy Curry
To New York: Tj Ford + Reggie Evans
To Indiana: Leandro Barbosa

Raptors clear salary. Azubuike is a young SG/SF that we take a look at.

New York gets their PG that their looking for that can push tempo and get a big that can rebound and help them during the playoffs.

Indiana gets a backup scoring SG to help them make the playoffs.

Memphis Commercial Appeal reports

The Griz continue to comb the league for a deal involving Hasheem Thabeet. They aren't getting any offers compelling enough to give away the 7-3 project center. Right now, it's J-will or bust. The Griz aren't planning to to sign any players to a 10-day contract

Its kind of hard to tell because they seem to have almost all their positions covered. They do need depth though and Randolph seems to be on the block because of his contract status, so another power forward couldn't hurt.

I would also guess a backup PG because they are looking at Jason Williams. Maybe a 3 way deal involving a team with extra PG's (Indiana? Orlando? Clippers? Minnesota?)

well are they trying to clear his salary in order to retain Zbo and Gasol. Then i hear reports that the owner expects them to make the playoffs which makes me believe they want to add salary. So maybe something like

To Toronto: James Johnson + Hasheem Thabeet + Greivis Vasquez + Keith Bogans (waived)
To Chicago: Leandro Barbosa + Demarr Caroll
To Memphis: Linas Klezia + Cj Watson + Joey Dorsey + Miami 1st?

Raptors enough to have cap space next summer (save 5 million). Get younger too, miami pick is replaced

Chicago gets Barbosa

Memphis gets backup PG help and get a backup SF which they also need.

Conley / Watson
Henry / Allen / Mayo*
Gay / Klezia / Young
Randolph / Arthur
Gasol / Dorsey / Haddadi

Calderon / Bayless / Vasquez
Derozan / Johnson
Weems / Kleza / Wright
Johnson / Davis / Ajincia
Bargnani / Thabeet / Evans / Alabi

* Johnson expires at his 10 day, Bogans waived

Earlier this season my standard poo-poo plater offer was Evans + Miami First,
Now I would do Evans + Alabi, but that's about it and I am sure a lot of teams could top that.

I wouldn't touch Thabeet unless we can get Mayo or Henry on the cheap as well. At this point, Ajinca is arguably as good, if not a better prospect than Thabeet (and is younger, and cheaper)

i agree. Id love something like. Mayo + Thabeet + Carroll for Barbosa + Evans + Dorsey + Miami 1st.

id also probably add a future 1st from Toronto. Not in 2012 but 2013?

meh. Id ask them to switch out Vasquez, add Henry or Mayo and wed add Dorsey, Alabi and the miami 1st. I think that would be a good deal for them.

To TOR
O.J Mayo
Hasheem Thabeet
Zach Randolph

To MEM
Leandro Barbosa
Andrea Bargnani

We get an expiring in Randolph, potential in Mayo and a project big in Thabeet. They get a scoring big that can stretch the D and a off the bench scorer. I doubt they'd do this though.
