About 16 million under the tax if he signs @40 million given that Boucher and Mitchell walk. That's 12 players, if they get the first overall pick they may have to shed a few million.

I feel confident the agreement they have worked out is a starting salary of the difference in: luxury tax - (current salaries + 1st rd pick + (4 x minimum salary slots)). Then 8% raises and probably a player option for year 5. That is my guess.

I do not get all the whining about the trade! Go watch BI highlights and say that be is worse than Siakam?! :banghead:

We just got Allstar for f** Brown, Kelly and mediocre pick in 2016!!! We will have length, ISO scoring and playmaking from BI. Scottie might never become offensive weapon like BI in his life and its fine. He is high IQ player to complement team in other ways.

BI was one of most consistent players in NO, his last PO performance was overshadowed by playing with scrubs and opponents focusing on him on defence.

In general, if his health will be OK next year you might want to revisit this thread and make fun on the whiners who wants treadmill with drafting for next 5 years

Masai fleeced again!!!

We gave up Indiana's first round pick for next year. At present...the pick is probably mid-late first round. Second round pick is for 2031.

And the Raptors giving up 2 picks indicates that they have some understanding that an extension is coming for BI. He's a Raptor next season...99% sure.

Love Masai but I'm not sure about this one, but being optimistic.

I looked at Ingram's advanced stats and they aren't crazy impressive.

He ranks top 50-70 in Win Shares, around 50 in BPM, around 40 in VORP...so a pretty good player, but not a true all-star.

I guess they are hoping he can be our iso scorer to balance out with Scottie, we'll see.

For some reason, I see Kelly being acquired by the Lakers

Toronto also preferred KO since he had a $12M clip for next season. Creates more flexibility for us to make BI and rest of roster work.

$137.3M - Currently guaranteed (9 players)
$40M - Ingram
$2M - Battie (RFA)
$8-13M - FRP

That already gets them to 12 players and $187-192M depending on the pick slot - remember that rookies almost always sign for 20% above the scale. Odd man out could be Agbaji

this place really loves overrating mid FRPs. Massive overpay? Ingram was gotten quite cheap, but we need to see if we re-sign him and for how much

My assumption is Raptors wanted Kelly included because having him on the roster and paying Ingram around $40m makes them a tax team and past the first apron.

Pelicans are going to be able to sign 2-3 minimum contracts and be just under the tax next year with Kelly and their 2025 lotto pick.

My suspicion is that the opportunity cost to take Kelly's additional years...was the Indiana first round pick.

Kelly likely gets dealt again today for probably 2nd round picks.

How does Kelly get dealt again today if the trade deadline just closed?

We overrate when we sell them and we underrate when we get them. Rinse and repeat.

Deal's not finalized yet. There is opportunity to loop other teams in if the Pelicans are rerouting Kelly and Bruce. Deadline is at 3PM today.

Just looking at Ingram's playoff stats, and wow what a tale of two extremes.

Last year, as people have mentioned, he had a terrible playoffs and was 14.3, 4.5, 3.3 on .345, .250, .895 shooting splits.

But his only other playoffs in 2022 he was brilliant with these numbers: 27.0, 6.2, 6.2 on .475, .407, .830 splits.

Will the real slim Ingram please stand up?

Maluach or Edgecombe will be good fits with this team now...

It's relatively low risk. We're likely giving up a pick somewhere in the high teens or low 20s, and even if he doesn't play up to expectations he's still relatively young enough that we can flip him for another asset that would more or less be equal to the Indy pick. I see this is a lateral move as a worst case scenario. Best case is he thrives in a new environment and it's an utter steal.

If u do that ur locking both and can’t trade the other in a separate deal

Are you sure about that? I thought that if we'd traded away the 'Worst of Indiana or Toronto 2026 pick' then we could still also trade away the 'Better of Indiana or Toronto 2026' pick in a separate trade?

Then I was told wrong nevermind if that’s the case

Even if we finalize the trade, Kelly can still be traded seperately, but can't be combined with anyone else.

Utah recently traded PJ Tucker after acquiring him last week from the Clippers

I'm guessing his first year salary starts at $35m.

Year 2 $37,800,000
Year 3 $40,824,000
Year 4 $44,089,920
PO Year 5 $47,617,113

Total $205,331,033

lol. You're right. Thank you.

There was a time some years ago that I was one of the CBA types on here, but just don't keep my head in that space any more and forget some of the inner workings and timing - like that its 3pm today and not midnight last night :/

Brandon gonna average 25 ppg with ease in the eastern conference. This is not the fully loaded western conference. The casuals are going to be surprised.
