We get an expiring in Randolph, potential in Mayo and a project big in Thabeet. They get a scoring big that can stretch the D and a off the bench scorer. I doubt they'd do this though.

It would be awesome if we did that, and were actually able to use the capspace we free up to steal Gasol from them.

Yeah but it doesn't work because of Bargnanis BYC. Here's a deal I think Memphis might do

To TOR: Oj Mayo + Hasheem Thabeet + Sam Young
To MEM: Leandro Barbosa + Linas Klezia + Joey Dorsey + MIA 1st

Also they could have Alabi if they wanted.

Why do I think they do it? Because Barbosa is out playing Mayo currently. They only add 600,000 of extra cap space next year. Dorsey played college basketball in Memphis. Klezia can play the 3/4 which is nice. They get a pick out of it too. Their goal is to make the playoffs there near Portland and have won 4 straight without Mayo

Conley / Vasquez / Williams (they just signed him)
Henry / Barbosa / Allen
Gay / Klezia
Randolph / Arthur / Carroll
Gasol / Dorsey / Haddadi

Pretty complete lineup. More complete than what they had

Calderon / Bayless
Mayo / Weems / Johnson
Derozan / Young / Wright
Johnson / Davis / Evans
Bargnani / Thabeet / Ajincia / Alabi

* I personally would waive Ajincia when Evans comes back after this deal

I think the most realistic deal that could work for both sides is Calderon + Kleiza for Marvin + Bibby...

They get their play maker and shooter at the PG and a better fit at SF with kleizas shooting ability. We get younger and shed some years off the 2 contracts while giving Bayless and Williams a chance to open up their game in the starting lineup while getting Bayless a good back up to learn from.

Yeah, I'd definitely do that. Marvin's a solid defender, and he's the same age as Weems. Hopefully we'd be able to move Bibby as well.

id do that and ask for a Heat/ATL pick swap if we send cash. Also something to add is the Hawks have to add someone to the deal because there so close to tax

it would have to be.

Calderon + Klezia for Bibby + Williams + Thomas

ideally though id ask for

Calderon + Klezia + Cash (or future 2nd) + Miami pick for Bibby + Williams + Thomas + ATL pick

I would do that deal without the pickswap.
I really do like Jose, but Marvin Williams is pretty well what you need starting at the three if you are going to have DeRozan at the two.

^^ I like both deals. I don't think Memphis would do the first deal. And sadly, I think Atlanta passes on the second.

Rhett (Toronto)

Cleveland gets its own PER Diem and what do the Raptors get? It sucks being SLIGHTLY BETTER than the worst team in the NBA. Do you expect the Raps to be active at the deadline John John?

John Hollinger (2:18 PM)

I think Colangelo will look at everything, particularly unloading Calderon and Reggie Evans, and I suppose it's possible he uses the rest of his trade exception. But really, I'm not sure Toronto has a lot that other people want, and that's gonna make it difficult to make radical changes.

Simple with Klezia out what about something like

To TOR: Bibby + Evans + 3rd team pick (14-18)
To ATL: Calderon + Cash
To 3rd Team: Miami pick + ATL pick

That way we move up a bit. We could use Evans and hopefully grab someone like Knight, Walker, Shelby or Corey Joesph

Yea I wouldn't mind that deal at all... the only problem I could see with this deal is the fact that ATL would need a replacement SF... now that Kleiza's out it's hard to find them one. But I'd be down for this trade even if they sent us their pick.

Nice!!

I think BC can do bit to point the tank in the right direction.
Even if we combine all the rumors that have floated around for the last few months that the other teams fans have not hated we may not be better, but we become more liquid.

To Chicago:
Leandro Barbosa

To Toronto:
Kyle Korver
James Johnson
Chicago 2011 First

To Atlanta:
Jose Calderon
Julian Wright

To Toronto
Marvin Williams
Mike Bibby
(Butter) Perhaps the Suns 2012 2nd, and the Rox 2013 2nd?

Then of course Reggie to Contender X for a second rounder.

Changes can be made, maybe just not huge ones.

If we get a DPE for Kleiza (since it looks like he's now out for the season), it could help us go after some young players on other teams that we probably wouldn't otherwise. We probably don't want to eat into our big TPE in case a big trade opportunity comes along either now or at the draft, and most of the young players we'd make available don't make enough to be traded 1 for 1 (and other teams may not want to do a 2 for 1 deal because of roster spots). Perhaps we could use the DPE to trade for one of these players with some combination of our minor assets (Miami pick/Weems/Alabi/Ajinca/Dorsey/future 2nd):

Anthony Randolph
Jason Thompson
Earl Clark
Omer Asik
Avery Bradley
Austin Daye
Donte Greene
Robin Lopez
Terrence Williams
Marreese Speights
Kevin Seraphin
Larry Sanders

Best way I think to get us under the cap this yr would be to move barbosa for an expiring.

To OKC - Barbosa

To TOR - Mo pete

we can throw in the miami pick or cask or a 2nd rounder or summin.

lakers get

Jose 2yrs 20 millleft
Alabi 1 yr 1 mill left

Raps get

Blake 3 yrs 16 mill left
Walton 2 yrs 11 mill left
Ebanks unguaranteed next year
Future 1st

http://basketball.realgm.com/tradecheck ... de/5834306

TPE's were used to facilitate this deal.

We get a legit back up and J-Bay gets fullreign of the team.
Ebanks is someone the Raps liked and gets a trial at SF with Kleizas injury.
Walton is a smart kid that should improve the IQ of the team.

Lakers get a pg that will help them immediately.
Alabi was a throw in, you can add Dorsey or Ajinca, doesnt matter as filler.

Not sure why this was locked but I thought it was a good entertaining read:
http://bleacherreport.com/articles/5927 ... ake/page/2

Here are the trades I like:
Sonny Weems + Trade Exception To Phoenix For Robin Lopez + Zabian Dowdell
(Robin Lopez is like a semi-poor Anderson Varj.

Joey Dorsey + Leandro Barbosa + TPE To Indiana For Brandon Rush + James Posey
(Brandon Rush is a talent, and BC is collecting young talent)

Amir Johnson + First Round Pick+ Weems + TPE to Memphis For O.J Mayo + Thabeet
(I hope they are referring to Miami 1st round pick, and not ours. If so, I like it, but can't see why Memphis wants Amir).

Reggie Evans+ Miami Pick To Milwaukee For Chris Douglas Roberts + Keyon Dooling
(A possible trade actually; CDR is a nice scoring talent and Dooling is a decent back up PG)

Raptors receive: Terrence Williams, Gordon Hayward, Jared Jeffries. Jazz receive: Leandro Barbosa. Rockets receive: Mehmet Okur, Sonny Weems, TPE

Very intriguing.. Terrence Williams is a talent and something the Raps can need; him and Derozan will make a good foundation for our wing position.

Sonny Weems + Trade Exception To Phoenix For Robin Lopez + Zabian Dowdell

That is a deal I do all day long;
Weems is a throwaway because I dont want to be tied to the contract he is going to end up with, moving Weems for Lopez lets us take a flyer on an actual Center, not a guy who may develop into one. I just dont see the Suns doing this deal?

Reggie Evans + Miami 1st Round Pick + TPE To 76ers For Iguodala + Tony Battie

Does this even work? Capoligist? Help!

Raptors receive: Terrence Williams, Gordon Hayward, Jared Jeffries

Jazz receive: Leandro Barbosa

Rockets receive: Mehmet Okur, Sonny Weems, TPE

Sure;
We get a large expiring for Barbo, we dump Weems, and we end up with two former lottery picks?
Done.

^^ the Iggy deal definitely does not work. If our TPE was big enough to absorb Iggy alone, then we could do Iggy for TPE, and then Reggie for part of the new TPE that gets generated for the Sixers...but this certainly doesn't work.

Exactly. It would need to happen like this

To TOR: Iggy
To PHI: TE + MIA 1st

Then

To TOR: TE (that they just got) + conditional 2nd
To PHI: Evans

Two trades is Whata needed. You can't combine a TE with players. Also our TE isn't large enough. It was (in July) but not anymore. You can absorb up to TE's amount + 100,000
