Re: Tank World Order
At this point it’s ridiculous to hold onto Lowry and hope for a 7/8 seed. He’s going to walk this summer for sure. Masai really needs to make some decisions ASAP before he loses more assets for nothing.

He will be under a lot of pressure to to a trade deadline deal for Lowry and norm.... hopefully their will be competition to acquire him then and we get good return ( ie frps)

A Lowry trade is necessary if we truly want to get where we need to go.
My Boucher concerns get more real with every game. TWO is in danger without Baynes.
Make the Lowry trade soon or this is a lost year.

On the plus side, Boucher is probably worth at least a first rounder by himself now and his contract would be easy to fit for any team.

Lol barely beating the Hornets. We good, tank is still rolling
2019 Eastern Conference All Stars
Derozan
Lowry
Ibaka
Valanciunas
Van Vleet
Delon Wright
Lebron
Embiid
There are only 2 teams in the league that rank in the top 6 in offensive and defensive efficiency: the Golden State Warriors and the Toronto Raptors.

i feel like I'm in the Bizarro world.

I get people want to a good pick, but just being in last place is no guarantee that we get it.

Or we do get a top pick and draft somebody like Josh Jackson or Derrick Williams. The draft is such a crap shoot.

Or we get a
Morant, Tatum, Trae... You know... Guys that weren't picked first overall but still would be the #1 guy on our team

So Masai and co aren't good at their jobs? Which is it? I'm confused, people say they did an amazing job scouting out talent like Siakam/Powell and finding FVV.
Should they not be able to find better talent in a top 5 pick? Why even have a management team/scouts if its such a crapshoot? Let Brendan Shanahan pick the Raptors selection.

wow these cowards. giving up the draft fight before it even begun.
it's like people hearing "mo money mo problems" then using it to justify not having a job

I am not for tanking, because I hate losing. But I thought I'd look in here. One thing occurs to me - the tank scenario seems to always involve trading Kyle, and drafting a great wing, and getting a decent C in the off-season by trade or whatever. To add to the young core of Fred Pascal OG and I guess Boucher (with Norm also leaving).
Biggest thing missing in that scenario, aside from the lottery being a crap shoot is this - without Kyle we'd have no good point guard. Fred shows all the time he cannot run a team offense very well. He is a 6 foot SG, 3 and d man, and a very good one. But the team envisioned by you tank guys would need a very good, and tall, point guard. Because I think Malachi will be ok but not great, plus a backcourt of him and Fred is back to the old super small backcourt.
There goes my hero. Watch him as he goes.

FVV would be the perfect tank commander at PG until we could get someone through the draft. My bet is though we take a wing

It has to do with the college game being so different from the NBA. It would be a hell of a lot easier if these kids went straight to the G League.
Keep in mind Masai drafted Poeltl 9th and Delon Wright ahead of Powell, Bruno 20th. Even he is not 100% when drafting.

I get your point but only 2 players on that list have a championship and its because they teamed up with Lebron. Maybe some of these guys will see the finals before all is said and done, maybe not.
I'm on the tank train because its the easiest path to a superstar level talent at the moment but we shouldn't be blind to the consequences if our pick is suboptimal.
The same way that many people pointed out that saving cap for Giannis is foolish because of x, y and z; tanking may not render the desired outcome either.

i do lol. for me, the msot fun is when u have a legit cotender like we did in 2019 (tho i was still wary bc healthy gsw was a bs team) but that was an incredible season bc i knew the past failures wouldnt mean anything now we had a legit star.
but after a contedning team, my favoirte to watch is a young and upcoming team thats building into a contender.
then its fun to watch a tank season where you know theres another prize at the end of the season then can lead to the one above which leads to the one aboe that.
watchign a treadmill isnt fun but this team is still better to watch then 2017=2018 seasons where u know we would just get embarrsed in a new way. This team will atleast put up a fight in the first round.

Bro we’re not going to the first round. We’re getting Cade Cunningham.

Idk about that one chief, cause we look really bad right now. Like 2015 bad after Lowry fell off half-way through the season. I can't imagine what the Bucks, Net, or Celtics will do to us cause they are tiers above that 2015 Wizards team
